I hope all of you who read it enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it..... I write for fun, not for feedback, but it sure is appreciated!!! JAG HQ 1000 EST "Harm. Library. Two minutes, and that's an order, Commander!" and with that she hung up the phone, rose from her chair and walked out of her office. Harm just smiled. He loved it when his Marine let her temper get the best of her. His Marine. "I wish" he said to himself, rising from his chair and heading out towards his appointment with the pretty Marine Colonel. 'These appointments seem to be turning into a routine thing, don't they?' he thought to himself. "Oh, well. Can't complain" he murmured right before entering the library. He went straight to the place where they usually met. It had been going on for about two weeks. Usually once a day, but every now and then she needed it twice in a 24 hour period. He didn't mind helping Mac out, and she usually repaid him well. "What took you so long, flyboy?" she greeted him when he was standing close enough to her. "Well, you know. Some of us do work around here. You, on the other hand, seem to be spending your working hours building up stress" he stated looking at her mocking accusation. "Well, Commander. If you weren't so good at what you do, then I wouldn't be requesting your services. Besides, you know I always pay you back" she said with a smile. "Yeah, that's exactly what I'm afraid of. You and your paybacks are going to be the death of me, Marine" he said as he leaned into one of the shelves filled with books. The place was very quiet. They were sure no one would find them there. After all, they didn't want to be court-martialed for conduct unbecoming or anything like that. Harm just did what he had to do for his best friend, whenever she needed it, and then she usually found a way to make it up to him. Not that she had to, but she definitely enjoyed the challenge of surprising Harm, which had become an almost daily ritual for them. After making sure the coast was clear, Harm went on with his daily task. 'Only with you Sarah' he thought as his hands moved to encircle her waist and came to rest on her lower back. 'Only with you' What they definitely didn't plan or was for someone at JAG to figure out their little secret. The truth is that Mac wasn't always as quiet as she should be, given the fact that they were using the facilities at the JAG Library. Harriet always had her, as Bud liked to call it, "Mac and Harm Radar" on and ready for signal processing. She was not the only one, though. There was someone else at JAG that was more of a believer in Harm and Mac than Harriet herself. Who was it? It was definitely the person who bet the most money, and had the number one spot in the office pool. This person knew it would be impossible for his co-workers to catch him, and this gave him a little more freedom to move around and put his own mission planning skills to use. JAG HQ Lt. Harriet Sims desk 30 minutes before "Bud!!" Harriet called as she looked around the office almost frantically. "Yes, Harriet. What's wrong?" "Bud!!! It's almost 1000 hours. It's almost time. I want you to be alert, okay? As soon as you see the Commander head out of his office you let me know. Understood?" "Yes, understood. I still don't think this is a good..." "Bud!!! Shut up and do what I say, will you? Sweetie?" she said as she smiled at him. Bud couldn't resist so he gave in. "Alright, but if anything happens...." "Bud, relax. The only thing that's going to happen is that you and I are going to win the bet and walk away with all of it, understood?" "Yes, understood. Again" "Good. Now, I'll go get the things we need, and you let me know when the time comes okay?" "Okay, honey" "Good. Dismissed" she said faking a commanding tone that made Bud break out into a gooffy smile. Bud had tried talking his wife out of this plan for a week now. Sure it would be nice to get all that money. The office pool was up to $1450.00 the last time they checked. Everyone in the building wanted to know everything about this important event they had all been waiting for six years. However, it had been impossible to make her rethink her strategy. She was determined to do this, not just for the money, but to prove to her husband that she had been right about their two superiors all this years. They were meant for each other, and no one knew about this more than Harriet, or so she thought. BACK TO PRESENT Library "Oh!!!" Mac gasped as the first set of bones on her back popped. My God is he good at this. Wonder what else he's good at. I bet I could get him to--- STOP!!! Where did that come from? You know he doesn't love you. He doesn't even want you. You're like a sister to him. 'I'm like a brother to her. We work together. She doesn't love me. I'm like a brother to her. We work together. She doesn't love me. I'm like a brother to....' Harm kept repeating this over and over on his head. These words had been his mantra for the last 2 weeks, as he had assumed full time duty as Mac's personal physical therapist. He was much taller and stronger, so he was perfect for the job. Every time she felt like her back was acting up on her, she would call him, and he would oblige gladly. He'd do anything to feel her close to him, even though he had to fight for his self-control often around her. He thought they were finally on their way to something more than friendship, but after hearing her talking to Uncle Matt about him he realized that she didn't want him the way he wanted her. So many things had happened, but he was grateful that he had her in his life, even if it was just friendship. She was already in his arms. Her hands were firmly on the back of his neck. Harm's strong arms were encircled around her waist. After ensuring relief for the lower part of her back he put his hands together behind her back again, this time, his ministrations intended for her middle back. He ordered Mac to inhale as he pushed his hands up and towards him at the same time. He heard the, by now, familiar sound of bones popping and once again she gasped and uttered some unrecognizable phrase as she felt the relief on her back. Harm tried to ignore the effect this was having on his sanity. He prepared to repeat his actions, this time for the benefit of her upper back. She inhaled. However, this time she heard a noise coming from behind the shelf of books that protected them from public view. She stepped away from him, and at his look of confusion, she pressed her fingers to his lips and opened her eyes wide, as if daring him to make noise. She waited for a minute, just to make sure he had understood she meant 'Shut up'. Her flyboy sure was slow sometimes, and this time she didn't want him messing up her plan. She knew Harriet and Bud had been talking secretly behind her back about something and she had an idea what it was. Heck, the whole office had been talking behind their backs for weeks now. She signaled for him to follow her. They went around the shelf of books they were hiding behind and had a great view of the backs of the two junior officers who were apparently having some problems with the technology they had selected to use for their assignment. "Harriet. I don't know how to turn this on. It's not working. I think it's broken." Bud was whispering to his wife, who was looking at him exasperated. Harm and Mac couldn't see their faces, but they definitely had an idea of what their faces looked like. Bud embarrassed and apologetic as always, and Harriet angry and frustrated because her plan wasn't working. Harm looked at Mac. They fought really hard not to give in and drop to the floor laughing. She debated whether to surprise them right there or wait until later. Harm was looking intently at her and years of closeness with him told her that he was waiting for her to make a decision. She motioned for him to return to their previous location. She had a plan. He might not like it, but it would do. They saw Harriet and Bud leave the library. "I wonder why they're so insistent on spying on us? Wouldn't it be easier to just come and ask us? I mean, what are they thinking we're doing anyway?" she looked at him for any kind of answer to her questions. Maybe he's thinking what I'm thinking. Well, I'll be damned if I open up to him again only to have him reject me like he did in Australia. So, I'll try a different tactic. I'm a Marine. Mission planning is my thing. "Mac, you know exactly what they're thinking" "And what would that be, flyboy?" she looked at him and smiled. 'Oh, this is going to be fun' she thought. "Maaaccccc... come on. You're smarter than that" "So, you think I'm slow?" "No, that's not what I..." "I'll show you slow next time you oppose me in court, Stickboy" she said with mock indignation, which was completely overlooked by Harm. He was too worried thinking of a way to get out of this one. "Mac!!! I didn't mean it like..." "Shut up, Harm. After six years you should know that explanations, especially verbal ones, don't work to your advantage when it comes to me" she said looking away for a moment. They both referred to that night in Australia often. Even though the references were indirect, the awkwardness just wouldn't go away. She thought that maybe joking about it would help them deal with it better. "What are you talking abo..." he stopped in mid sentence at her knowing look and raised eyebrows. He knew very well what she was referring to, and he appreciated her attempt to hinder the regret and remorse he felt whenever he thought about that night. He tried to go along with her teasing game, but failed miserably. "Well, maybe I'm not the best at expressing..well..you know. It's just that I'm not sure if....the thing is that.." he stopped when he saw her exasperated expression and decided he had two options. He could either go on babbling and get himself in more trouble than he already was, or he could shut up and soften the blow to his self-confidence. "Are you done yet? Jesus, Harm. What's going on up there?" she said pointing directly at his head with a grin on her face, trying to clear the air. She took on a look of fake concentration for a moment, and then continued "Are you sure you're getting enough oxygen up there, you know being 6'4 and all?" "Very funny, Marine. What I was trying to say was ...." "HARM!!! I said shut up. I don't care about what you were trying to say. I'm just teasing you" she said and rolled her eyes at him and smiled at the ridiculous grin he had plastered on his face. "Harm, we need to figure out what's gotten Bud and Harriet so into this. I'm curious. Aren't you?" she said with a childish smile that made every muscle in his body opt for a collective strike. He looked at her with clouded eyes and he suddenly couldn't string a coherent sentence together. Oh yeah, his neurons were in on the picketing as well. His whole world was right in front of him, so close he could feel her warmth, and all he could do was babble. 'What's wrong with you Rabb' he thought to himself. "Harm. Harm??? Harm!!!! Earth to Rabb. Are you okay? You look a little spaced out there" she said suddenly showing some concern for her partner and best friend. He laughed slightly. "Of course I'm okay, Mac. I just, um...was a little...maybe it's getting hot in here" he finished rapidly as it got harder and harder to look directly at her and ignore the urge to take her in his arms and make love to her right then and there. "Getting hot in here hu?" she said to herself and a devilish smile spread across her face as she fought with herself not to show any distraction on her part. "Mac?" he asked cautiously, as if trying to protect himself for the lady Marine who had already stormed the beaches of his heart. Her smile grew wider and he could only stare. She was so perfect, so beautiful when she smiled. "Okay, listen up" she sobered rapidly realizing she had started to daydream about her sailor once again. "What Mac?" he asked trying to regain his own composure and keep his feelings under control. Not to mention his hormones. "Well, I have a good plan to get back at Bud and Harriet and the rest of them. But you'll need to practice" she said looking in his eyes and smiling slightly. "Practice? What for? What are you talking about?" he frowned after seeing that tiny smile grow into a mischievous grin for the second time today. He knew something was about to happen. It always did when his Marine smiled like that at him. "Yeah, practice. I have to get back to work. Thanks for popping my back" she turned and started walking away. When she realized he wasn't following behind her she turned to look at him again. "Oh, yeah" she called over her shoulder. "I'll pay you back for your services tonight. 1930, my place" "Okay" was all Harm could manage, swallowing hard while looking at her retreating form. She started walking away again. "Oh, Harm?" she turned towards him and saw him jump slightly in place at the sound of her voice. 'This is more fun than I had imagined' she thought. "Uh?" he forced his eyes to focus. "Dress comfortably, will you? I'd prefer something easily removable, but that's just me" she eyed him up and down, winked at him and resumed the walk towards her office without another glance. Harm stood there for a while, trying to digest what had just happened. Well, I guess I'll have to go find out what this plan is about tonight. "Easily removable" he said under his breath as his legs finally decided to cooperate and he felt himself start moving. 'I wonder what kind of payback she's talking about' he thought. With those thoughts he entered his office minutes later and didn't see her the rest of the day. He didn't really care about Bud and Harriet. He had better things to think about. Correction, she had *someone* better to think about. He walked around with a permanent grin on his face the whole day, ignoring the curious smiles from everyone at JAG, including the Admiral, who was, to say the least, amused at his senior officer's chosen behavior for the day. Harm didn't care. He was getting a surprise form his Marine tonight, and somehow he had a feeling it wouldn't be a challenge to a monopoly game. In his head, he went over everything he had in his closet that could possibly match Mac's description of proper attire for the evening. 'Easily removable' she had said. 'Hold on a minute. Doesn't removable come from the word "remove"? Oh my God! It's a verb! Yeah, it's one of those words in the English language that refers to an action.' "To remove" he whispered to himself as his eyes grew wider. 'I wonder what she's thinking of removing tonight.' It wasn't the words, but the actions those two simple words implied that had him waltzing across the office the rest of the day. Tonight couldn't come soon enough for him. Mac sat at her desk. 'Did I just do what I think I did?'. Oh well, serves him right. It had been months since they last had spoken about the "us" that she had in mind. A lot had happened in a year, and after their talk after the Jagathon she thought they were on their way to that new relationship she wanted from him. Harm, however, had closed up to her again, like he always did when he realized the ball was on his court. This time, she swore she wouldn't let him jump ship. 'Harmon Rabb, Jr. By the time I'm done with you tonight, you'll be begging not to leave my sight ever again'. His reaction to her earlier was the fuel that kept her focused on her plan. "Easily removable" she muttered to herself. 'Where did that come from?' Oh, well. She was definitely looking forward to finding out if he had taken her suggestion seriously. After a couple of hours at her desk, she got restless and went to lunch, hurrying out the door so Harm wouldn't see her before he came out of the Admiral's office. She had been gone from the office all afternoon conducting interviews for her upcoming case, and boy was she glad she didn't have to see him until tonight. Her resolve would probably suffer a hard blow if she saw him around the office. HARM'S APARTMENT North of Union Station 1730 EST Harm was beside himself. His hands were running idly over every piece of clothing he owned, trying to find exactly the perfect thing to wear tonight. 'Aren't women the ones supposed to be worrying about things like this' he asked himself. He wasn't surprised though. He had done worse things because of Mac before, not that he would admit that to her, of course. He couldn't believe Bud and Harriet were spying on them. Why would they need to do that? What was the big deal? He had heard rumors before about the office pool. Gossip had it that everyone was betting on when he and Mac would get together. He heard a comment about it once, but dismissed it as being ridiculous. He had heard her tell her Uncle Matt that he wasn't anything more than a friend and that she saw him like a brother more than anything else. It hurt him so much to hear that from her, but he figured that he had ruined his chances with her so many times that she wasn't willing to give him another one. The time finally came for him to go see Mac. If he didn't leave now he was going to be late. He grabbed his keys, walked through the door and towards his car. MAC'S APARTMENT Same time A knock on the door brought her back from her daydreams. Yes, she had been dreaming of her sailor once again. She hurried to the door and looked through the peephole. She opened her door and there he was, in all his glory. Standing right in front of her. For a minute she just stared at him. He was wearing kakis and a button up navy blue shirt. God he's just perfect. Harm was doing some leering of his own. She was wearing jeans, and a red knit sweater that matched perfectly with the crimson of her lips. God she's just perfect. "Can I come in?" "Uh, sure. Come right in" He walked past her and she saw what he had been hiding behind his hands. He turned after she closed the door and realized she had already seen the flowers, because she put her hands in her mouth, trying not to laugh. He looked down at the flowers with a sheepish grin. "Uh, these are for you" She finally laughed. "Thanks Harm. They're beautiful" "Not more beautiful than you" he muttered as she walked past her towards the kitchen to put the flowers in a vase with water. She stopped and turned to look at him. "What?" "hu?" he turned to look at her, not realizing that he had said it out loud "What did you just say?" He knew he had been caught, so he went for broke. "I said the flowers are not as beautiful as you are" he finished looking away from her. "Well, well, well. A compliment. How nice, Harm. Now, what do you want?" she said, trying to lighten the mood, since she had noticed how nervous she had made him. 'Oh, yeah. Right where I want him' He smiled and sighed. "Mac, I need to talk to you" "Talk away sailor" she said as she walked towards the kitchen. "Maaaaaccccc..." he whined at her lack of focus on the issue at hand. She walked back into the living room where he had already made himself comfortable on her couch. "What is it Harm? Are you nervous about the "easily removable" comment I made this morning? Don't worry. I was just teasing you...." His hands on her shoulders stopped her from saying anything further and his nose was inches away from hers. "You listen to me now, Miss Mackeznie. I won't take this from you anymore. You either want me or you don't. Do you understand?" "Uh, mmmhmm..." was all she could manage to say "I don't think you do. First, you talk to me in Australia and completely misinterpret my words. Then, you cancel your wedding because I went down at sea. I go half way around the world to talk to you and you brush me off instead of waiting for my answer. Then, you tell me you want to talk before the Jagathon, and when I ask you when you say 'when it happens'. Then your comment about 'back at the beginning' Whatever *that* meant!!! Then I heard you talk to your Uncle Matt and tell him that I'm like a brother to you. How can you do this to me Mac? You can say whatever you want about me not talking or opening up. But you know damn well what my feelings for you are. I tried to tell you at the Admiral's porch the best I could. I all but told you I loved you. It seems to me the one who's scared of talking now is you instead of me. Don't you agree counselor?" She started laughing. Harm was not amused. "Harm..." she started when her laughter subsided enough for her to use her vocal chords. "First of all, that conversation you heard with Uncle Matt, I wasn't talking about you. You heard your name because he asked me how you were doing. I said you were fine. Then he asked me about Mic. I didn't want to worry him with the whole engagement and wedding fiasco, so I lied to him. That's what you heard. It wasn't you I said I loved as a brother. In fact, as far as we're being honest...." He cut her off "As far as we're being honest, Mac. I love you" "Haaaaaarrrm.....!!" she whined and stood up from the couch. He didn't see the smile that spread across her face. "Mac, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to drop this on you like this. It's just that..." "HARM!!! That was your payback for tonight!!!!! You ruined it... I had everything planned you big dummy! But NOOOOO!!! Harmon Rabb, Jr. always the over achiever. You always have to be first don't you?" "What?" he asked thoroughly confused now. "I LOVE YOU, Harm. That's how I was gonna pay you back for today." she looked at him exasperated and watched as the widest smile she had ever seen spread across his face. "You do?" he whispered "Of course I do, you idiot!! Why do you think I didn't marry Mic. Who else could I love? You think it's possible to fall in love with someone else when I have you in the office every day? Think again!" she said with a seductive smile "It's not?" Harm was still in shock 'He's still giving me short answers' she thought. 'Since his brain is still on leave, I should probably attack him now. He'll never know what hit him' Mac started to move towards him. Harm followed her with hungry eyes and she knew she finally had him. She took his hands in hers and tugged on them until he stood up. She moved her hands up and down his chest and up to caress her face. On hand on his cheek and one behind his neck, she pulled him down towards him and sought his lips with hers. He voluntarily bent down and their lips met. It wasn't a passionate kiss at first. It was gentle and sweet, and spoke volumes of the love they had for each other. However, love and gentleness only took them so far before the passion and need overtook them. Six years they had waited, and it was going to be the best night of their lives. Of that they were sure. She broke up the kiss reluctantly and stared up at him. Her eyes never leaving his, she put her hands on his chest and started to unbutton his shirt. He could only stare at her in adoration. She finished up with the shirt and stared at his amazing chest, inviting her to touch it. Her hands roamed all over him and she licked her lips in anticipation. Her actions did not go unnoticed by Harm, as he moved to encircle her with his arms and bent down to kiss her neck gently and nibble at her ear. She moved her hands up and down his back and moaned with pleasure as he continued his assault on her neck and ears. Soon, she felt his hands move from her back to her front, and he cupped her breasts through her sweater. Sensing it wasn't enough for him she put her hands up in the air and nodded. He took off her sweater and looked at her in admiration. She smiled. She reached up and kissed him once again, feeling like her mouth had been made for his only. They continued working on each other. She reached a little lower and touched his manhood through his pants. He tensed slightly at her touch, and smiled, never breaking contact with her mouth. She smiled as well and reached for the belt. She unbuttoned his pants in no time and they were soon pooled down at his ankles. Her jeans followed the same fate and they started moving towards the bedroom clad only in their underwear. When they reached the bed, she fell backwards on it with Harm on top of her. He pulled back for a second to admire her, and looked her up and down. She blushed and he noticed. "You're amazing, Sarah" he whispered She was touched by his words and answered him looking straight into his eyes and pulling him closer to her again. "You're pretty amazing yourself, sailor" "You think so, hu?" "Yes, I do" "Well, I still have to prove it to you, don't I?" he said as he nibbled her ear once again and kissed his way down her neck softly, almost reverently. "Mmhhmmm.." was all she could say. Harm smiled to himself as he reached for the clasp on her bra and released her breasts for his hungry eyes to devour. His eyes weren't the only part of his body wanting a part in the action, and she felt his manhood pressing slightly against her thigh as he worshipped her breasts. She was feeling a little impatient, so she gathered up her strength and managed to flip them over so that he was on his back and she was on top of him. She made quick work of his boxers and threw them in the general direction of...the floor. She eyed him up and down, her eyes wide with admiration of the vision before her. "Wow" she whispered, unaware she had said it out loud. Harm blushed, and did his best to hide it from her. She noticed but didn't say a word. Her brain was busy contemplating the many ways she could make use of his equipment. Harm laughed lightly and the sound brought her back from her thoughts. Oh, yes. This was not a dream. He was here, hers for the taking. She smiled and started moving her hands up his legs and rested them on the place where he yearned for her the most. She moved up to his face and kissed him passionately, her hand never leaving his erect member. He couldn't take it any longer. He sat up on the bed and without a word led her to rest against the pillows. He was on top once again and pulled her thong over her hips and down her legs. His reaction was the same as hers had been when she'd seen him completely naked, but he didn't let it go by unnoticed. "You're so beautiful, Sarah" he said with all the intention her hearing him. She was finally his, and he'd be damned if he kept any feelings from her ever again. She pulled him up to kiss him and he settled in between her legs. He kissed her passionately and looked straight into her eyes. At her nod of agreement and her tongue on her lips he entered her. They moved together as if they had done it before. It was an amazing feeling of completeness for both of them. Their eyes locked and when the time came, they both flew over the edge, still gazing deep into each other's eyes. After a hot and steamy shower, they lay together in bed, wondering how they had lived so long without having each other this way. "I love you" he whispered in her ear. She smiled. "I love you too, sailor" she answered looking up from her chest to look at his eyes. "Are you still mad because I spoiled your surprise?" he asked caressing her face with the back of his hands. "Nah... I think I found a way to pay you back. Don't you?" she said and smiled seductively at him. He laughed lightly at her comment. "That you did, Marine. That you did" "So, when can I have my back popped again?" This time he laughed, not so lightly, and she joined in. "You and your paybacks are going to be the death of me, Marine" repeating what he had said to her this morning and remembering how different this had turned out from the other times she had attempted to make it up to him. "I'm only getting started, Sailor. I think you better change your diet. You know. Increase your daily calories and all" "And why would that be?" he asked with a raised eyebrow even though he knew the answer to that one. "Oh, I don't know. I could tell you, but then I could also show you" and with that she moved up and claimed his lips once again. When the morning came, it found them wrapped up in each other sleeping soundly. Never before had Mac slept as comfortable and secure as she had the night before. He internal clock woke her up and she knew it was time to wake up. They had to be at work in exactly two hours, and she didn't want to raise questions by having them arrive together. At least not yet, anyway. She smiled when she thought of what her plan had been for the night before and how different things had gone. She thought she would tell Harm how she felt, he would reject her, and she would transfer out somewhere. Well, maybe I had a little hope that he felt the same. Alright, the truth was that she was determined to *make* him love her if she had to. It didn't turn out to be that difficult. Now all she had to do was convince him of her plan to get back at the people at JAG. She felt him begin to stir and smiled when he opened his eyes and looked at her. "Morning, beautiful" he smiled at her "Hey you, good morning" she smiled back at him "How are you feeling?" "Better than ever. How about you?" "I don't think there's a word to describe it" he meant it as a compliment. He should've known better. "That tired hu?" she laughed slightly "Funny. For your information, I can take anything you dish out, Marine. Besides, how would I ever get tired of you?" "Flattery will get you nowhere, Sailor. We still have to be at JAG in a couple of hours" "Oh, damn. Can't we call in sick? I don't want to let you go just yet" he grinned sheepishly at her and she felt her heart melt as he tightened his hold on her. "Harm, come on. Work won't be that bad. Besides, we have business at JAG. Or did you already forget we were being spied on yesterday by our co-workers?" "Oh, that. Hey, you said you had a plan yesterday? What is it?" "Well, here's the deal. What do you say we give them what they want? We could find out if the gossip about the office pool is true. Won't it be fun to see their faces?" "Of course it will" he said smiling again when he saw that childish expression on her face, like they were playing hide and seek or something. "Well, then. We'll meet in the same place at the same time, alright?" "Sure, no problem. One condition, though" "What?" she frowned "That I get you all to myself tonight, after we have some fun with the office people" "You can bet on in, Stickboy. Just remember to eat a big lunch and dinner. I can't guarantee I'll go easy on you tonight like I did last night" she teased. "Ouch. You sure know how to bite at a guy's ego Mac" "I'm a Marine remember? Besides, your ego is big enough as it is. Now get off your six and into the shower. We have one hour 56 minutes and.........30 seconds, now!" At his questioning look she explained. "I like to wait for the even numbers okay!" and with a chuckle from Harm she left his side and went into the bathroom. He joined her a few minutes later, and they had......a shower together. JAG HQ 1000 EST "Harm, it's almost time" she said loud enough for Bud and Harriet to hear. They were standing talking secretly at Harriet's desk. Harm walked by. "I'm ready, Mac" he said and winked at her purposely. His action did not go unnoticed by Bud and Harriet, and the look they gave each other almost made Mac laugh out loud. They both walked away towards the library with amused smiles on their faces. They got to their usual place and waited. They hid for a while and watched through the shelves of books as Bud and Harriet made their entrance. It was completely hilarious. Mac motioned for Harm to go back and they stood right behind where Bud and Harriet were. Mac looked at Harm and winked at him. Harm raised his eyebrows suggestively and they put their plan to action. Harm's mouth descended on Mac's and they kissed and moaned loudly, knowing that being noisy was the heart of their plan. Bud and Harriet looked at each other perplexed as they heard the sounds coming from the other side of the books. They couldn't believe it. Of course, Harriet believed they were meant to be together, but she never really thought about how it would be when they finally decided to do it. She looked at Bud who had a similar look on his face. "Wow" Bud whispered and stared at his wife in disbelief as the sounds emanating from his superiors filled his ears. 'Oh, wait until the Admiral hears about this' When that thought crossed his mind he opened his eyes wide. "What's wrong Bud" Harriet whispered "If we go through with this, the Admiral will find out" "So?" "Harriet, he'll chew them out for their behavior. They're not supposed to be doing this here, or anywhere at all. You know the rules" "Oh, Bud. I don't know. I have the feeling the Admiral will understand. After all, he does have a bid on the office pool" "He does?" Bud asked in disbelief. How come he always found out about things after everyone else. "Yes, silly. Everyone's been waiting for this" she stated matter-of-factly. "Oh, Harm...mmmmm!" At first, they had every intention of stringing Bud and Harriet along on their game. However, things had taken a different turn. Bud and Harriet were the last thing on their minds. "Sarah.....love..you..so..much...hmmm" Harm continued kissing and nibbling everywhere he could, while Mac was busy exploring his toned body with her hands. Harm smiled into her mouth when he realized they were both in uniform. "I thought you preferred *easily removable* attire Marine?" he said tugging at her uniform jacket. She had to laugh at that and the action broke their oral connection. He looked at her amused. "What's so funny, sweetheart?" he started at her, and frowned when he saw her expression. "What's wrong?" "What did you just call me?" "Sweetheart?" he said smiling sheepishly and looking away "Oh?" she was a little shaken. It was the first time he'd called her anything like that. She was in heaven. "You don't like it do you? I'm sorry. I know you don't like to be treated like anything less than an intelligent woman with a name. You're a Marine, a lawyer, and a woman, and I won't call you that again. You mentioned once that you hated it when Mic called you "luv". Please don't be mad. It's just that, well..." She took his face in her hands and smiled. "Shut up Rabb. You're so adorable. And you can call me whatever you want. In fact, I'll e-mail you a list of all the popular terms of endearment you have to choose from. I love you" and she kissed him to make sure he had no doubts about her words. "Are you sure? I don't want you to do anything because you feel like you have to" "Harm, listen to me, and listen carefully. You're right. I'm a Marine, and a lawyer, and a woman. I don't appreciate people treating me with less respect than what I deserve. However, from now on, I'm YOUR Marine, and YOUR lawyer, and YOUR woman. When you called me "sweetheart" just now, it felt like heaven. It means the world to me to hear you use words like those when you talk to me. I want to be yours Harm. Please, don't ever doubt that" This time it was him who cupped her face in his hands and initiated the kiss that took up the next few minutes of their lives. They realized after they stopped kissing that Bud and Harriet had left. So they took a few seconds to regain their composure and started to walk back. Harm stopped in his tracks right before they exited the library, causing her to run into him. He turned to look at her. "Harm, what's wrong?" "Honey, don't you want me to pop your back today?" She smiled tenderly at the worried look on his face. "No Harm. I don't need it today. I don't think my back will needed it form now on" "Really? And may I ask why?" he said as he started walking again "Well, you see. I have this Sailor now, very handsome by the way, who lets me sleep in his arms. I think my back won't be complaining from now on" "Is that so?"he said with a raised eyebrow. "Yes. Actually, I think you might know him. He's a pilot too, you know?" "Really? Tell me about him" "Well, he's arrogant, cocky, self-centered at times, egotistic, stubborn, bull-headed...."she stopped at his look of surprise "but...he's also loving, compassionate, truthful, honest, generous, honorable.... Definitely a gentleman in be..." The clapping and whistling as they entered the bullpen cut her off. Their eyes locked on Harriet, who was cheering excitedly and holding up a tape recorder on her hand. The Admiral came out of his office when he heard the sound coming from outside. He looked at Harriet and smiled. "What is this all about people?" the Admiral asked trying to hide the amusement from his face. "Sir" Harriet spoke up. "As you know, the office pool has been going on for longer than we care to remember. About 5 years, ten months, to be exact, and it has finally come to an end. I have proof Sir! I was right all along! After failing miserably to record that kiss on the night of the Colonel's engagement party, Sir, it's finally over" Harriet exclaimed excitedly. "Is it Lieutenant?" the Admiral asked failing to suppress a smile this time. Harm and Mac looked at the interaction between their friends with a worried look on their faces. When did this become *their* game? Hadn't they planned that little episode earlier to get back at their co-workers for putting money on them? How come the Admiral was in on this too? "If you all would excuse me, I'll be right back. I'm interested in listening to your evidence, Lieutenant" They waited until the Admiral returned. As soon as he did, Harriet stepped forward to the middle of the bullpen where the whole office was gathered to witness this historical moment. Harm and Mac were starting to understand what was going on, but had both looks of disbelief on their faces, and their co-workers just laughed straight out at them. "Uh, Lieutenant? How much was the office pool up to?" "Uh Sir, 1,450 dollars, Sir" Harriet answered "Very well. Now would you please let us hear what it is you call evidence?" the Admiral said. Harriet stepped up proudly and hit play on the small recorder for all of them to hear. There was nothing. Harriet looked at Bud worried. "Bud? What's wrong with this?" "Uh, I don't know. It was working fine. Let me see" Bud stepped closer to his wife and took the recorder from her. He inspected it when he took the tape out he noticed it was protected with a special seal. He frowned. "What's wrong Bud?" Harriet said exasperated. The whole bullpen was just standing there waiting. Both Harm and Mac noticed the big smile plastered on the Admiral's face. "I'm sorry Harriet. It didn't work. It didn't record anything. The tape it's sealed. It's funny though" he laughed amused and continued "the only ones I know who use this type of tapes are.....Oh God... CIA!!!!" he exclaimed. "What?" Harriet asked furious. "Bud. Where did you get this tape recorder?" "Uh, well...you see....Mr. Webb came by this morning, and well...he asked if I needed a tape recorder. It was weird though, that he knew that we needed one, but I figured since he's CIA he has that intuition you know, like maybe people who can see UFO's have that feeling right before they're about to see one....." "Bud!!!" the Admiral's voice raised exasperated. "Sir?" "I think I can solve this so we can all get back to work and I can get on with my life" Everyone looked at him expectantly as he stepped forward and took out a small tape recorder from his pocket. He pushed play and soon then whole bullpen was filled with the same sounds that Bud and Harriet had heard from their superior officers minutes before. Harm's jaw dropped open while Mac opted to cover her mouth with her hands. They both turned to look at each other. The Admiral laughed heartily at the look on his officer's faces. "Well, I think that's enough" he said pushing stop on the tape recorder and tossing it towards Harm. He caught it and looked at his CO's smiling face. Harm was not amused. He was completely speechless. The Admiral then turned to Harriet. "Uh, Lieutenant, I'll expect the money counted on my desk before you leave today. It'll definitely help pay for all of little A.J's gifts, especially Christmas. Do you have any idea how much I spent on him last year?" he smiled and Harriet grinned. "Yes, Sir. Understood, Sir" He turned toward his office. As if he had forgotten something he turned back again and everyone looked expectedly at him. He spoke up. "Oh, I almost forgot. Those of you who are interested in the video version of the Colonel and the Commander, stop by my office. Tiner has the cost information. There's both video and DVD. And remember, the CIA has top quality equipment" he looked at Harm and Mac as their jaws dropped open once again and laughed. As he entered his office he said under his breath. "I owe you one, Webb" Harm and Mac couldn't' believe it. Webb had spied on them, with the Admiral's approval. He had audio and visual proof of their little adventure, and they weren't about to be court-martialed? Life was sure weird here at JAG sometimes. Who said the military was boring? They watched with amusement as the rest of the office lined up in front of Tiner's desk to leave their information and their credit card numbers to secure a copy of what they were now calling "H & M Entertainment" MAC'S APARTMENT Later that evening After they spent hours making love and enjoying the feel of each other's warmth, they lay together in bed thinking over the events of the day. "So, flyboy. What do you think about today?" "Oh, I'd have to say it was definitely a growing experience. Remind me never to get on the Admiral's bad side again" "I know what you mean. I still can't believe he was in on this for so long" "I can't believe the office pool was up to 1,450 dollars. That's insane!!!" "Well, we sure took our time, didn't we, Sailor?" "We sure did, honey" he said. She smiled. "So I take it "honey" is your favorite from the list I sent you?" "I'll definitely have to agree with you on that one" he smiled and tightened his hold on her. She sighed happily feeling loved and protected in his arms. "Harm?" she said tracing circles on his chest with the tip of her fingers, and a seductive smile on her face. He knew what she wanted, but still he asked. "Yes, baby?" "What did you eat today?" He laughed out loud. Then hovered over her for a few seconds before kissing her passionately. "I could tell you, but then I could also show you" he answered and smiled. She laughed at hearing her own words coming from him. Their love and passion soon took over them once again. Their life was perfect. Oh, yeah. Just perfect. THE END!!! Hope you enjoyed it...
