Summary: Mac POV, Companion piece to Unspoken Question I

The afternoon sunlight soothed Mac's tear-stained face as she sat 
outside JAG headquarters, her half-eaten lunch forgotten. She missed Harm so 
much! Five months had passed since Paraguay, since their discussion, 
since the end of their relationship. At the time she really thought she 
was doing the right thing. For both of them.  

For the thousandth time her harsh words rang in her head. "...Things 
are never going to work out between us..." She had been cruel, but felt 
it was necessary. They were doing nothing but hurting each other. "So if 
it was supposed to be a release, why aren't you happy now that you're 
free? Harm is no longer a part of your life, isn't that what you 
wanted?"  

As if in response a sudden breeze stirred around her, picking up the 
pieces of her shattered heart and sweeping them away with the wind. Mac's 
answer to the unspoken question was, sadly, no.
