Title: The Perfect Circle Spoilers: Retreat, Hell, Capitol Crime, Yeah Baby 0834 LOCAL JAG HQ Mac strode into the Office of the Judge Advocate General to congratulate her partner on being made the Acting JAG. She paused at the door… “Hey…” Harm looked up and stared. Mac was standing at the threshold to the office in an incredible floor length; sleeve less while evening gown that left no doubt that Mac was all woman. She sauntered up to him. “It's gonna rain this afternoon. It's perfect weather for making love.” “Well you oughta know, sweet thing.” She glided right up to him. “Harm? Harm? What are you doing?” She no longer sounded sexy. She sounded worried. He concentrated and looked at her. He groaned she was in uniform. “Just checking.” He assured her as he reached out to touch her Marine shirt. “What happened to your head?” She asked. “The Admiral's chair fell out from under me.” He explained. “Are you okay? You called me, sweet thing.” She accused. “Why would I say that?” He defended. Mac pressed “And what exactly was it I would know?” He was about to reply when he felt giddy. He blacked out. + + + “Captain!” T’Pol said. “Huh?” Harm looked around. This was not JAG. He stared at the woman (?) She sure as hell was not human. “Who are you he demanded!” “Cut communications.” The pointy eared being told an Asian woman. Harm did a three sixty turn about. Somehow he knew he wasn’t in Kansas anymore. “Sir?” The Afro American sounded concerned. They all looked concerned. He caught a glimpse of himself in one of the reflective surfaces. THAT WAS NOT HIS FACE!!! “Where am I?!” He tried to keep control of his emotions. The pointy-eared woman humored him. “I am T’Pol and you are Captain Jonathan Archer of the USS Enterprise.” Harm laughed. “All right Bud! I get it! How you did it I don’t know but this is a good one!” T’Pol hit the communicator “Doctor to the bridge.” “I’m on my way.” A cheerful voice came through. ======================================= JAG HQ Mac watched in horror has Harm slumped against the desk. “Haaarm!” She shouted. Petty Officer Tiner came running in at her call. “Ma’am?” “Get me an Ambulance ASAP!” She ordered as she tried to get Harm as comfortable as she could. “Nice way to dodge a question Rabb.” She muttered. ======================================= It was no longer funny. Some how this was reality. But how could it be? The route from the bridge to sickbay had shown him that not only was it not JAG but it wasn’t the twenty first century either. Suddenly the ship rocked. “What the hell was that?” Harm demanded. “One can only assume that the first contact did not go well with the Daxians.” Dr. Flux said. Harm racked his brain for memories of Bud and his ramblings. First Contact that he understood. “Daxians?” he asked. “Oh yes. I understand that they resemble quite strongly centaurs of mythical earth. Highly intelligent and excellent soldiers.” The Doctor described. “As I said First Contact.” “Get me to the bridge.” Harm ordered. “But Captain…” “Don’t but Captain me!” “Aye sir.” + + + “Captain on the bridge!” Trip called out. “As you were.” Harm said and remembered his CO. “Report!” “Hoshie” T’Pol indicated. The young woman looked nervous. Harm smiled and nodded his encouragement. “The Daxians are demanding an apology and that the shot was just encouragement.” She announced. “Apology for what!” Harm demanded. “Logic dictates that it must be for the abrupt manner in which we terminated the conversation.” T’Pol surmised. “Logic! Of course you’re a Vulcan… Spock!” Harm was happy to get a reference point. “T’Pol.” She corrected. “Yes I am Vulcan.” “Sorry.” Harm was contrite. “Hoshie hail the Daxians.” He felt giddy and staggered. “Sir!” Hoshie cried out as he fell. ======================================= The car swerved. “Thomas!” A leggy blonde screamed. Harm assessed the situation in one and grappled to control the Ferrari. It felt great to be in the sports car. He missed his corvette something awful. He pulled the car to a stop in a secluded area. “Oh Thomas.” The blonde sighed and reached for him. Harm needed no further encouragement. The kiss she gave him was full of promise of wonderful things to come until he heard a growl. Standing at the door to the car were two nasty looking Dobermans. That they didn’t like him that much was obvious. He stared at them and they back at him. “Magnum!” It was amazing how much contempt an Englishman was able to put in a single word. “If you must entertain do not do so in public.” “Hi Higgins!” The blonde waved. Higgins ignored her. “Well if you control Mutt and Jeff here…” The man sighed heavily and called. “Zeus! Apollo! Heel!” the two dogs reluctantly moved away. Harm and the blonde got out and with her leading (thank heaven) they headed for his apartment. As they walked he admired the view and thanked heaven for the female of the species. He felt what was now a familiar sensation of giddiness he stumbled. ======================================= Now this body he at least had an acquaintance with. Sturgis and Mac were in her office and she had closed the office door and said, “Because I'm in love with him.” Harm now in Sturgis’ body didn’t know what to say. “Did I say that? You have to keep that to yourself.” She looks as shocked as he felt. “OK” He manages to say. “I mean it Sturgis” “So do I.” “Harm can not know this!” She was almost begging. “Don’t worry he won’t find out from me.” Harm told her and stood to leave. “But you will have to tell him one day.” She shrugged her shoulders. “Maybe on a death bed.” No!!! He thought he wanted to know more!!! He stumbled. ======================================= The perspective was funny. Something wasn’t right. He looked down and saw paws. Paws? He trotted around Mac’s apartment… trotted? And spotted himself in a mirror and groaned. He was in Jingo. He spotted Chloe and snuggled up to her. Voices were coming from the other room and as the girl scratched his ear they listened. The front door closed. Chloe entered the room and Jingo/Harm followed. "I think I understand now why you can't marry my dad. You're in love with Harm." Harm’s attention was riveted on the two. Was he the only one who didn’t know? Poor Mac she looked sad. He remembered the scene. It was the night he came to tell Mac that he had had the operation and was returning to flying. Now it made sense as to why her reaction had mirrored that of Jordan’s. Chloe was speaking again. "Are you sad because Harm might leave JAG?" "Were you eavesdropping?" "It's a small apartment." Chloe defended. Mac confessed, "I don't what I'm feeling." Chloe: "Well, if it makes you feel any better, you should now that Harm's in love with you too." I am! I am! He said but all they heard was Woof! Woof! Mac reminded her "Harm has a girlfriend." Chloe got philosophical "A woman can sense this kind of thing." "Oh, really?" That amused Mac. "Yes, really" and then she launched into a children's song a version of one … "Harm and Mac sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G." Harm felt relief as the indictor for a move manifested. ================================================ Harm found himself in a chick fest. Mac, Bobbie Latham and himself in who he had no idea, but the conversation was in full flight. “Let ME guess, that was another one of your Caribbean Grandmother’s sayings.” Mac sneered. “Caribbean it may but accurate it is.” Bobbie conceded. “Women like Harm but Harm likes Mac.” “I’d like to ring his neck.” Mac retorted. “What!” She demanded as she spotted Bobbie’s wide grin. Bobbie chose to answer by addressing Harm. “I said that to him once… long time ago. I said. Women like you Harm… Mac likes you. Know what he said? He said she’d like to ring my neck.” Harm grinned. Mac waived her finger at him. “Don’t say a word.” “Who me? Never!” He swore. He was only too glad that he wasn’t walking. The heels this body was wearing were lethal! He jumped. ================================================ He was with a group of people. He took a quick recon of the place. He was getting used to this. The banner said JAGfest 2002. The debate was raging over Harm and Mac. He did a double take. “But the pathetic way that two lawyers cannot express their feelings is ridiculous!” one person said. A man added “Boomerang was classic!” “Yes I particularly enjoyed AJ’s non judicial solution to Harm and Mic’s breaking of Bud’s jaw. Bud was right they were fighting over Mac. The case was just a backdrop for that play.” A third said. “Then there was the ferry.” He smiled. “Ferry times two.” She groaned. “Grrr!” another replied, “Ever heard of Parallel Hearts? You see on TNG there is Commander William Riker and Counselor Deanna Troi while on JAG there is Commander Harmon Rabb Jr. and Lt. Colonel Sarah Mackenzie. Regardless of the show every one I mean everyone knows they belong together except of course them.” “Do it or don’t do it but for God’s sake take a stand Harm!” someone lamented. “The latest of course is Ma’s line: Don’t be gentle be good!” someone pointed out. He leaped. ================================================ BETHESDA NAVAL HOSPITAL He was looking at himself and he didn’t look good. Bud entered the room. “How is he m’am?” “Not good.” He bluffed. He recognized that voice! It was Mac’s he was in Mac! He was standing and he knew that Mac wore heels. He’d have to navigate. He was in Mac he relished the thought. He needed to know did she really love him? He searched. Bud was watching Mac; she looked distracted. “He’ll be all right ma’am the Commander is a fighter.” “I am?” he replied. “I mean he is he is.” He moved to the window and stumbled but he didn’t leap it was Mac’s shoes, he wasn’t used to navigating in two inch heeled shoes. She called this comfortable? “Ma’am?” Bud was alarmed. “I’m ok Bud.” He assured the junior officer. He looked out the window and Bud settled into a chair next to the bed. He searched Mac’s heart and soul and found that it was true. The love she felt for him was overwhelming. A tear rolled down his/her cheek. He’d hurt her so much! He vowed to do right by her if he ever managed to get back to his body. His head hurt, he felt giddy and he stumbled. ================================================ “My head hurts.” Harm groaned. “And so it should. You hit it quite hard.” He heard Mac say. He opened his eyes and he drowned in her brown eyes. “Hey sweet thing.” “Bud get the doctor.” Mac ordered. “Yes ma’am” Bud hurried out. “Ah so we pick up from where we left off? And what exactly was it I would know?” “Oh no. We start afresh. I’m sick of this dance. Once I’m out of here I’m staying put. Right by your side.” Her eyes widened. “I know if you’d known you’d have taken a club to my head a long time ago.” FINIS
