Harm's Apartment North of Union Station 1952 ZULU (7:52 PM) "Hey Harm, what are these?" Mac asked as she look through the 'junk' on his coffee table. "You Marines sure dont believe in privacy, do ya?" Harm said jokingly as he came into the living room with two mugs of coffee, handing one to her. "They are some pictures my mom mailed me" he answered, "You can look at them if you want. There of my dad." The last sentence made Mac just a litle un-easy, but she looked any way. She laughed out loud of one with Harm, Sr. giving him a piggy-back ride. "Well, are there anymore cute baby pictures in here?" "Ah, shut-up" he replied to her joke. "DAMN!" she exclaimed. "What?" he asked a litle worried. "Look at these two pictures, Flyboy," she held up 2 different pictures side-by-side, one of him and the other of his dad. They're were about the same age in the pics, in the same style fight uniform, and in the same position. "Damn!" His reaction was the same, just a little more suttle. "Take away the mustache and ya'll two could pass as twins!" Mac commented. "So I've been told," he said, with a litle hint of saddness in his voice. "If only he were here" he chimmed in. "He is" she replied. Lately I've been noticing I say the same things he used to say And I even find myself acting the very same way I tap my fingers on the table To the rythem in my soul And I jingle the car keys When I'm ready to go When I look in the mirror He's right there in my eyes Starin' back at me and I realize The older I get The more I can see How much my mother and my brother and me And he did the best that he could And I only hope when I have my own family That everyday I see A little more of my father in me Harm let her words sink in before he answered her. "What do you mean?" He asked. "Harm, you are just like him....... your looks, your attitude- from what I've heard- and especially your eyes and smile. Dont forget your height." she added, trying to lighten the mood. Harm snorted at her joke, but he could still feel the burning feelin rising in his throat. There were times I thought he was bein' Just a little bit hard on me But now I understand he was makin' me The man he knew I could be In everything he did He always did with love And I'm proud today to say I am his son When someone says I hope I get to meet your dad I just smile and say you already have The older I get The more I can see How much he loved my mother and my brother and me And he did the best that he could And I only hope that when I have my own family That everyday I see A little more of my father in me "Hey Mac, can I ask you something?" "Of course, Harm," she quietly replied, seeing the tears in his eyes. "Do you think he is proud of me?" he asked, the dam that was holding back his emotions slowly giving way. "Of course he is. Why wouldn't he be?" She said, bringing one hand up to his cheek to wipe away a single tear that esacped his eyes. All he could do was smile at her. He's in my eyes My heart, my soul My hands, my pride And when I feel alone And I think I can't go on I hear him sayin' "Son you'll be alright" Everything's gonna be alright "Have you been paying any attition to this song?" she asked him. "The whole time." he replied. Mac laughed at his tone and he couldn't help but smile. Man, how he loved her laugh. "Dont tell any one, OK?" he asked. "Huh?" she asked, clearly confused. Harm laughed at her choice of words, but replied, "For one, that I am sitting here crying like a baby and you're holdin my hand." Mac just shook her head. "The infamous Rabb Pride" Harm flashed her a Flyboy smile. "Damn strait!" He and Mac both laughed hard but he sobered up pretty quick as another thougth crossed his head. "What is it, Harm?" Mac asked when she saw the deep thougth in his eyes. "Well, I just thought- and this might sound cheezy but- even though we were only together for 5 years, I still know that he loves me, right?" Mac could not believe Harm could actually get this emotional. But it only made her love him even more (it that was possible) "Of course he loves you, Harm. So do......" Mac trailed off as she realized what she was about to say. "Who?" Harm asked, even though he know who she ment. He was proven right when he saw her turn pale right in front of him. 'Don't she know I love her, too?' He thought to himself. "I need to get going" she stated as she rose from the couch. "Oh no you don't, Marine!" he said, grabbing her wrist and pulling her back down on the couch. Before he thought about what he was doing, he leaned down and kissed her gently on the lips. It took Mac by total surprise, but it was only a couple of seconds later before she was able to respond and put her arms around his neck. "I'm gonna red light myself for what I just thought about," he said when they parted. "Me too" she stated. He raised his eyebrow and put on his best Flyboy smile. "Oh, really?" "Are you always this kinky with girls?" Mac asked, even though she already knew what the answer was. Harm just smiled. "I get it from my dad," he said before he captured her lips again for another kiss, this one more passionate. The older I get The more I can see How much he loved my mother and my brother and me And he did the best that he could And I only hope when I have my own family That everyday I see A litle more of my father in me A litle more of my father in me I hope everyday I see in me In me In me I hope everyday I see A litle more of my father in me ********************************************************************** Title: Song for Dad Artist: Keith Urban Album: Golden Road I'm sure he dont mind me using his song.......as long as I give him credit, right??? ;) Thanks, Keith!!!
