Title: Only Just Begun Author: Nicole Category: R [Harm/Mac] Rating: pretty much G, maybe PG, but that’d be stretching it. Spoilers: none, really. Sorta the line “I am so sick of this dance” from whatever ep. It was. Disclaimer: not mine, alas Summary: “We’ve only just begun to dance” –Mac Feedback: desired Author’s Notes: Inspired by a scene from ‘Can’t Fight This Feeling II’ I don’t remember which scene, I’m sorry. It’s really short, sorry. Maybe I’ll write a sequel some time. Timeline: I’m not really sure. The ring was on the right hand, anyway. Mac glanced around nervously as Harm led her out onto the dance floor. How this happened, when she had been so careful about avoiding him, was beyond her. The music started, slow and melodious, and Harm pulled Mac to him lightly. Their bodies were stiff and unsure as they swayed to the music. By the second verse, Harm was softly singing the words in Mac’s ear, and had pulled her intimately close to him, both of them relaxing considerably. Mac closed her eyes and reveled in the feel of Harm’s body against her own, his unique scent coiling around her brain and taking over her senses. Her pulse was racing, the intense feel of dabbling in the forbidden nearly taking her over. ‘I shouldn’t be doing this,’ Mac thought to herself. ‘I shouldn’t be like this with Harm, I shouldn’t even be enjoying it, for God’s sake!’ But she was. She was doing it and she was enjoying it. Mac pulled away slightly and looked into Harm’s eyes, the blue depths filled with desire and… love? ‘Could he really love me?’ Mac wondered. Harm’s breath came quickly and he felt a small measure of guilt at what he was feeling for another man’s almost-fiancee. He met her eyes, almost drowning in the chocolate pools. He felt Mac’s body pressing against his own and desire coursed through his veins. ‘I love her so much,’ he thought, ‘almost impossibly so.’ The two slowly became aware that the song had ended, and were jerked back to reality as Mic approached to take back Mac. “Sarah,” Mic implored as he stood next to the still embracing couple, “come dance with me.” Mac looked from Harm to Mic and back again. Her eyes nailed to Harm’s, she said softly, “We’ve only just begun to dance.”
