Captain Albert Buro, and Lieutenant Commander
Catherine Russo. Captain Buro, an ex submariner
working for Naval Intelligence  assigned to JAG HQ for
five years now as a liason between the Judge Advocate
General and the Director Of Naval Intelligence..
Captain Buro is in love with Mac has been since he
first laid eyes on her. Commander Russo is a women he
meets On Christmas day 2002 after seeing Harm and Mac
confessing their love for each other in the coffee
room on Christmas Eve Morning. First in a series

Christmas Eve 2002.
The elevator doors opened up and a tall officer
emerged shaking the snow off is overcoat. Captain Al
Buro walked into the bullpen and a voice rang out
"Attention on deck", the captain just waved his arm.
Captain Buro was an ex-submariner who was assigned to
Jag headquarters as a link between Admiral Chegwidden,
and Admiral Clark, Director of Naval Intelligence. The
Captain's job was to assist the Jag team of lawyers
with technical advice involving mishaps aboard US
submarines, and to conduct independent investigations
to determine if these mishaps were terrorist related.
As he walked toward the coffee room, he heard two
familiar voices. "Oh Harm, I love you too, finally you
say the words".Captain Buro walked in and saw them in
a loving embrace and kissing passionately. "Ahem
excuse me" Al coughed and rushed out. "Oh Al please
wait" Mac said chasing after him. "Al Please". She
followed him to his office and closed the door behind
her. "Al you weren't meant to see that, I did think
you would be in this early, I didn't mean to hurt you,
please believe me".  Al was looking out the window at
the snow falling down". "I Know Sarah", he said as he
turned to look at her, he never called her Mac always
Sarah. "It's just that now I know where I stand with
you". They had been out on a few dates in the last
five years since Al was assigned here, then Brumby
came along and she dated him, when he lefty after the
wedding was canceled she had gone to Al because harm
was busy with Renee after her Father died."Al you know
I never meant to hurt you, oh I feel so bad, I feel
like I led you on". "I'm fine Sarah, I'll be alright
and you never led me on, we went out a few times and I
took it the wrong way, I know how you feel about Harm
everyone does"."Are we that obvious Al"?  " yup sure
are I think you both knew it too, but you couldn't
admit it not even to yourselves. I'll be fine".
There was a knock at the door and Harm walked in, "you
alright buddy"? "yeah Harm I'm fine, so let me be the
first to congratulate you". He got up walked over and
shook Harms hand and then bent down and gave Mac a
hug. "Al I want you to know that you'll always be a
big part of my life, you're my big brother", Mac said.
"Absolutely", chimed in Harm. "I just want to know
your ok, I know you love her and you've loved her for
some time it has to hurt". "I'm not going to lie to
lie to you Harm it does hurt, but what can I do, It'll
take some time but I'll get over it". Mac looked at
him, a tear rolling down her cheek and more welling up
in those beautiful brown eyes that melted his heart. "
I just don't want to be another name on that   long
list of women who rejected you", Mac said with a
tremble in her voice. "Never Sarah," Al said , "you
could never be on of those, you're my baby sister,
can't fault you for loving someone else, and to tell
you the truth if it had to be someone else I'm glad
it's Harm". "Thanks buddy", Harm said that means a lot
to me". "That's why I love you big brother", Mac
joined in, "Your so understanding". They had ben
through a lot together the three of them and Al was
glad they finally got together ,"Well we all best get
back to work", Harm said, "before the Admiral comes
in". "Are you still going to come to Bud, and Harriets
tonight"?, Mac asked Al. "Sure I'll be there, It's
Christmas Eve", "ok see you later" Harm and Mac said
as they walked out,  
The day dragged on slowly for Al, every time he saw
Mac he got that empty feeling in his stomach, but he
would be fine the wounds would heal and he would move
on he always did. I t was nearing 1700 hrs almost time
to go home and get ready for Christmas Eve dinner at 
Bud and Harriet's, he wondered if he could get through
the night without crying. "Piece of cake" he thought,
" tomorrow's the rough day you'll be alone and have
time to dwell on it" Al shut down his computer turned
off the lights and left to get ready for dinner.
Robert's Residence
1900 hrs
Bud and Harriet, were standing in the living room
making sure all was in order, every little thing in
it's place. Bud looked at his wife and laughed. "What
Bud?" Harriet asked, "Oh honey, at least we won't be
the first to arrive as we do for all the functions".
Harriet laughed as well. "True", she said.. Just then
the doorbell rang and Bud got the door. Tiner was
standing there holding a load of gifts, "Evening sir"
he said, "Merry Christmas". "Hey Tiner" Bud replied,
"Merry Christmas too you too." With that Tiner entered
at said hello to Harriet. "Hello ma'am, Merry
Christmas". "Merry Christmas. Just put those under the
tree. Tiner walked over and placed them under the
tree. "Eggnog?" Harriet asked. "Yes ma'am thank you"
Tiner said. The bell chimed again and Bud opened the
door. "Good evening admiral Merry Christmas, you too
Miss Cavanaugh". Merry Christmas Bud", they replied
together.
Over the next half hour all the Robert's guest had
arrived, except Captain Buro. After awhile they
started to notice, Mac said, " wonder where Al is, he
said he was coming," Harm you think it hit him harder
than .he let on?" "Maybe" Harm said.   "Harder than
what" AJ asked. "Oh nothing sir, just a little problem
he had we'll explain later sir" Harm Said.."Anything I
should be worried about" AJ said, "Don't think so
sir"Mac said.
At about 2030 hrs the bell chimed again. Harriet
answered this time. "Oh sir good evening we were
worried" she said as she saw Al standing at the door.
"Sorry Harriet Car wouldn't start" "Well glad you're
here sir", Harriet replied, "come in.
Al walked in and greeted everyone. Mac walked up to
him and hugged him. "Merry Christmas Al you ok?" "Sure
Sarah, Merry Christmas to you  too. Car wouldn't
start". Oh" Mac replied. "Don't know which is worse a
women or a car" Al joked "Hey bubblehead",Mac said
with mock anger, "that's not nice" "Just kidding
Sarah", I know big brother" Mac said.
After a round of Christmas Carols it was time for
dinner. They all gathered around the big dinning room
table and took their seats. Harm naturally sat next to
Mac. Bud as host was about to make his Christmas
toast, but before he could get the first word out Harm
stood up. "Bud before you make your toast I have
something to say".Mac looked at him with a puzzled
look as did everyone else. "Don't worry Sarah, I know
what I'm doing" Mac had that reassured look on her
face and smiled. Everyone was surprised at Harm's
familiar tone.   "This morning after along time
thinking about I finally realized that I'm in love
with Sarah and told her, you can imagine how I felt
when she told me she loved me too" "Hot damn AJ
blurted out" I guess this come as a surprise to you
all. "Hell commander"AJ said, "we all knew it everyone
at Jag knew except you two" he laughed. "Well it's
about time" added Commander Sturgis Turner."Well now I
can say it" Mac told me last year that she loved you"
he said. "Sorry Mac". "It's ok Sturgis", Mac said.
"Then my six is safe?". "Quite" Mac said laughing.
Harriet could not contain herself any longer, she ran
over to Mac and threw her arms around her.
"Congratulations colonel" she said with tears of joy
rolling down her cheeks. "I'm so happy for you both"
Even Lauren Singer had something nice to say, "Al the
best to you both, I mean that" and she did. 
As all this was going on Al sat quietly not saying a
word. AJ shot him a look that said, "you ok". Al
nodded.  
As the night wore on gifts were exchanged and toasts
made to the happy couple. "So is there a wedding in
the future?" Harriet asked. Mac replied, "Slow down
Harriet, we're going to take it slow and easy" "Yeah
slow and easy", Harm said. "There is no rush now".
"Don't worry Harriet, when the time comes you'll be my
matron of honor". "Oh thank you Sarah". She finally
called her Sarah.
At about 2330 they all got ready to go to midnight
services. Sturgis' father was a navy chaplin who came
out of retirement every year to say the Christmas
services. As they were leaving Bud hung some mistletoe
over their heads and they kissed passionately,
everyone applauded even Al and it came from the heart.
After the services everyone went their separate ways.
This would be the first year Harm and Mac would not be
alone for Christmas, they would be together for ever
from now on. 
Christmas Day 2002
Rockcreek Park
1000hrs.
It was a cold crisp clear day, the wind was blowing
and the trees were swaying in it's arms. Captain Al
Buro was sitting on a bench staring out at nothing. He
was right it was hitting him today, another Christmas
alone. He seemed to be the only one in the park, and
his thoughts went to Mac. He could see those eyes,
those brown orbs that made him weak. "Well you managed
it again Al" he thought to himself, got your heart
broken again, oh well such is life in the big city".
As he was sitting there feeling sorry for himself, he
noticed a statuesque young woman running toward him on
the jogging trail, she was wearing a jogging suit. He
looked up as she ran by but she just passed him by
like he wasn't even there. He watched ger until she
disappeared   around a bend in the trail."Hmm" he
thought to himself, nice six. He sat there letting his
mind wander back to Mac, he remember how she looked in
that blue bikini down in Australia God she was
beautiful. As thoughts of Mac filled his head he saw
the tall young woman coming at him again. And again
she just ran by. "Must be sitting in a hole"he thought
as she slowly ran out of sight around the bend. He
felt the tears come now, "oh Sarah, Sarah where for
art thou. About twenty minutes later he was sitting
there with his eyes closed shut when he heard, "Hello
there." He did not answer. Again "Heloooooo ". His
eyes were closed so tight when he opened them
everything was a blur. When they finally focused he
saw the young woman"s face. "Sarah?" he said. "Sarah?"
Who the hell is Sarah" the young woman said. As the
fog cleared from his head he saw that it was not
Sarah. "Oh I'm sorry" he said, It's just that you look
so much like someone I work with. In fact you could be
her twin" Someone special?" the woman asked. Yes"
replied Al "but not in the way you think" "And you
know this how?, are you a mind reader? "Wow you're a
sassy one", Al said. "That I am that I am" she
responded. She stuck out her hand, "Catherine Russo,
may I join you?" "Sure" Al replied taking her hand,
"Al Buro" "Nice to meet you Al", You too Catherine"
"Wow"she said, " I thought I was the only one alone in
town today" "Yeah I thought the same" Al said "Guess
we were both wrong". "If you don't mind me saying you
look kind of sad' Observed Catherine "Do I", Al said.
"Yes you do, I know you don't know me but if you'd
like to talk I'm a good listener"    "You'd want to
hear about a complete stranger's problems? "Well yeah,
talking helps" Well ok if you don't mind' Al said. "No
problem, but can we go somewhere warm I'm not exactly
dressed to sit out in the cold for a couple of hours"
"How about coffee, there's a coffee shop by the park
entrance" Al said. "Sounds like a plan, lets go"
They spent a good two hours chatting in the coffee
shop over coffee and pie. As Catherine was eating
cherry cheese cake, Al Said, "you seem to be really
enjoying that, "Christmas dinner" she laughed. "Oh",
Al said. "Enjoy away. "So Catherine, what line of work
are you in?", Al asked. "Naval officer" she replied.
"Duty station"?   Bethesda Naval Hospital", replied
Catherine. "You?" "Naval Officer" "Oh my, what are the
odds on that both of us in the navy". "Pretty hi I
guess, but then in this town just about everyone is
military or a politician" "Yeah I guess, may I ask
your grade" Catherine said. "Captain" with that
Catherine sat up. "Sir I'm sorry to be so familiar I
didn't know", Catherine said embarrassed. "Don't worry
Catherine, we're not on duty or in uniform, what is
your grade?" Lieutenant commander I'm a doctor. You?
I'm a liason officer for Naval Intelligence I work at
Jag headquarters as a link between the Judge Advocate
General and the Director of Naval Intelligence"
"Sounds exciting", Catherine said."Not really, I used
to be in submarines till I got beached after I hurt my
knee in an auto accident" "Sorry" Catherine said. It
was getting near 1400 hrs and Catherine said"Well this
has been great, but I have to be on duty at 1600, have
to go home and shower" You have the duty on
Christmas"? "Afraid so", Catherine replied. "Need a
ride"? Al asked. "No I have my car, but thank you".
She gave him her card, "call me some time" she said.
"I will, maybe we can have dinner", "I don't dinner on
the first date" she laughed and Al joined her. "But
coffee would be fine". "I'd like that" Al said. "Ok
then  bye and Merry Christmas Al, nice meeting you".
Merry Christmas to you Cat, may I call you that"? "Yes
of course just don't cal me Cathy I don't care for
that". Ok then Cat, nice meeting you too and I'll call
some time". "Please do bye". And they both left.
In the next month Al and Catherine saw each other
quite a bit, first coffee then a couple of movies and
then dinner.
The Willard Hotel 
Washington DC
2100 hrs
February 14th 2003
Harm and Mac were just finishing up dinner. It was a
hard month for Mac, she had some really tough cases,
so Harm thought it would be nice to take her out for a
romantic Valentine's Day dinner. Right after they
placed their dessert order, Harm said to Mac, "Honey I
have something to tell you, or rather ask". "what is
it Harm?" Mac asked. With that Harm got up and walked
over to her side of the table. He looked her squarely
in those beautiful brown eyes and got down on one knee
and reached into is pocket. Holding out a small  box,
he said, "Sarah Catherine MacKenzie will you be my
wife"?  "Oh My GOD! Harm, oh yes  yes  yes. I'll be
your wife". Harm was delirious with joy so much so
that he didn't realize that the entire room was
applauding, when he finally realized it he turned 4
shades of red. Mac was crying with joy, she waited so
long for this she couldn't hold back. They were in
love and they would be together forever, Her thought
started wandering to what would happen when they got
home.  
Harm's apartment
2330 hrs
Harm turned the key to his apartment door and pulled
Mac in, She was so beautiful, and soon she would be
his wife. "Wait here  flyboy" she said and went into
the bedroom, when she emerged 5 minutes later she was
wearing a flaming red satin bra and panty set. She
said "Happy Valentine's Day Harm", She walked over to
the sterio and turned it on, a very sexy song was
playing and Mac started to dance, Harm got up and
started to walk toward her. "Sit back down stickboy",
she said. Harm obeyed, but stripped down to his boxers
before sitting on the couch. Mac started dancing

replied. "Can we see him Harm?" asked. Tiner hit the
intercom button. "Admiral, Colonel MacKenzie and
Commander Rabb would like to see you" "Send them in"
came the reply They entered and came to attention."At
ease" snapped Admiral Chegwidden. "Any problems you
two?" AJ asked, "no sir it's just that we have an
announcement". Good God Rabb! You didn't get her
pregnant already" Mac had to laugh, "No admiral
nothing like that", she held up her hand. " We got
engaged Friday. " Well that's great news,
congratulations" He walked over and shook Harms hand
and then kissed Mac. "We wanted you to be the first to
know sir", Harm said. Mac chimed in, "I hope we're not
causing you any problems" Well you know both of you
can't be in the same chain of command, one of you will
have to transfer out, can you live with that" "Yes
sir", Mac said. "We were prepared for that. "Good" AJ
said. "At any rate it won't happen till after your
married, set a date yet?" "Not yet sir plenty of time"
Mac said. "Ok if that's all your dismissed   duty
calls "Aye, aye" sir Harm said and they walked out.
As they were returning to their offices, they saw Al
and Sturgis talking. They walked over to them and 
Harm said "hey guys what's up" "Nothing" Sturgis said.
What are you two plotting?", Mac questioned. "Nothing
we were just talking about are days in the boats",
"miss it?" Harm said. "Not at all", Sturgis replied.
Mac said, "How the hell could you guys stand going
down in those overgrown cigar tubes" "Now Sarah" Al
said A boat is like a beautiful thing I miss em, but
then I would have never met you folks. So what's new
with you". Mac held up her hand. "Wow, bout time
Buddy", Sturgis said looking at Harm and shaking his
hand. Al grabbed Mac and hugged her, "Congratulations
baby sister, I'm so happy for you, great news Harm"
shaking his hand.. ‘Thanks buddy" Harm said. "Well I
better go tell Harriet before she finds out some other
way" Mac chuckled. "Oh before I go Al, you just got
promoted to my best friend". Mac said. "I thought he
was you best friend" Al said pointing to Harm. "No
he's my bestest friend", she giggled at the childish
term and laughed now as she went to tell Harriet.

Mac walked over to Harriet's desk, Harriet looked up,
"morning ma'am". Harriet was very professional at work
but when Mac showed her the ring, she exploded. "OH 
MY GOD  SARAH" Everyone in the bullpen looked up from
what they were doing. CONGRATULATIONS SARAH I'm so
happy for you". "Thank you Harriet" Mac said hugging
her friend."Ma'am now that Bud and I have our own home
I'm going to throw you two an engagement party". "Oh
Harriet thank you so much, I'd like that" , she said
with tears in her eyes, she really liked Harriet and
she was so happy that she wanted to this for her."Any
particular day you'd like?" I was thinking about a
month from last Friday?" Mac said. "Fine , I'll get on
it.
The next couple of weeks Mac and Harm were walking on
air, the office was full of joy for them, but they
were concerned about Al, they didn't see him much
socially, and when ever they went to Benssinger's he
didn't come along, until Mac noticed that he was
always smiling and singing and whistling. Harm noticed
a spring in his walk. At lunch one day they spoke
about Al. "Well" Harm said, "Al seems to be fine". "I
should say so", Mac said, "he's had enough time to get
over me She had a devilish grin on her face, "I think
he's seeing some one" she said. "Think so?" . Well
when a man has a spring in his walk and sings and
whistles all the time, there's a woman in his life,
just look at you she smiled. "Guess your right hon",
I'm always right Harmon Rabb Jr Mac said still with
that devilish   grin that made him love her even more.

Friday March 14th 2003
1730 hrs
Harm and Mac's Engagement Party
Harriet, was all excited, the guest for her friend's
engagement party would be arriving soon. She knew from
the very start that they were meant for each other,
now they were engaged and soon she would be Mac's
matron of honor and Bud would be Harm's best man. As
she was putting the finishing touches on everything
the Bell rang, "I got it , Bud said. He opened the
door and there was Tiner. It seems that he was the
first to arrive and these social events now. With  
him was a cute brunette. "Evening Lieutenant" Tiner
said, evening Tiner. "Sir may I present Lisa Castro.
‘Hello Lisa" Bud said as Harriet came over, "I'm Bud
this is my wife Harriet". Nice to meet you sir, ma'am'
Harriet said well come Lisa have some wine", Thank you
ma'am". Call me Harriet". Bud leaned into Tiner, "you
dog you". Lisa was very pretty, she had big blue eyes
and very long hair. The next to arrive was Petty
Officer Jennifer Coates. Evening Lieutenants she said
as she walked in wearing a beautiful red dress. "Jen",
Bud said, "off duty it's Bud and Harriet. "Ok Bud" she
said with a laugh. Next was Lauren Singer, she wore a
long white dress that was cut so low it barely covered
her breast. "Evening Lauren" Bud said staring, "Hello
Bud nice house hi Harriet" , ‘Hi Lauren wine", don
‘t mind if I do thank you", She walked to get the
wine and Harriet said to Bud "Down boy" "Harriet" Bud
cried and went to get his own wine. Next to arrive was
the honored couple, Harm had on a sport coat and Mac
had on a green halter top and a red dress. It was a
little cold for a halter but Mac didn't mind it was
her night.
By 1830 everyone who was invited was there except Al."
Wonder where the Captain is admiral?" Bud questioned
"Probably running late Bud". AJ said. "Hope he's
alright", Harriet said, " we all know how he feels
about the colonel". I think he's over that Harriet, at
least I hope so". "Me too sir", Harriet added,
At 1900 the bell rang again, Harriet answered. There
was Al with Catherine. Harriet gasped when she saw
Catherine. "Any thing wrong Harriet", Al said with
concern in his voice. "Oh no sir it's just that she
looks just like the colonel, my god just like her".
"Harriet this is Lieutenant Commander Catherine
Russo". Well hello ma'am" Harriet said with her
usually bubbly tone, nice to meet you ma'am", Harriet
said. "Nice to meet you too Harriet, and please call
me Cath". "Ok Cath come in", Al and Catherine walked
and everyone's eyes were on Catherine, she had on a
black skirt, short and a red top. She looked stunning.
The first to greet them was Lauren Singer, she got
along good with Al because he wasn't a lawyer and not
an obstacle in her way as she climbed the ranks.
"Lieutenant Lauren Singer, this is Lieutenant
Commander Catherine Russo", Al said. "Hello Catherine,
nice to meet you, hi Al" "Hi Lauren" Al said. "May I
say Catherine, you quite pretty". "Thank you Lauren"
Catherine said as they moved further into the room.
Harm was talking with Sturgis about basketball when he
saw Catherine, his jaw dropped. Sturgis saw her at the
same time . "Hey buddy, she looks just like...........
Harm he said "buddy". Harm was just staring, Sturgis
was snapping his fingers in front of Harm. "Hey Harm,
buddy snap out of it". "What", Harm said. "Wake up
Harm", he held his hand up with two fingers. "Harm how
many Macs am I holding up", he said laughing. "Ha, ha
, ha funny, but she does look just like Mac". "She
does", Sturgis said only taller. "And her boobs are
bigger. "Well Harm I wouldn't know that, I don't make
it a habit going around staring at Mac's boobs". "Oh
yeah right" "I don't Harm" , Sturgis protested.
After all the introductions except Mac's she was in
the head, things got back to normal. When Mac returned
from the head she was happy Al was there and with a
date. She walked over to them, Catherine was not
facing her but when she greeted Al Catherine turned
around. They just stared at each other for what seem
like minutes but was only seconds. Al's voice brought
them back to reality. "Sarah, this is Catherine", Al
said. "Catherine meet Sarah". Catherine stuck her hand
out and said, "hello me", that broke the ice and all
three laughed. "So you're the one who has my big
brother walking on air" I guess so", Catherine
replied. Harm came running over, "Hey Mac, she looks
like you only taller", ‘yeah", Mac said, "and her
bobs are bigger. No Offense Catherine". None taken
Mac". "Hey that's what I said" Harm said. "And you
said this to who", slapping Harm on the shoulder.
"Sturgis", "you were talking to Sturgis about this
nice woman's breast. "No not really. "Well" Mac said,
"this gives new meaning to the term talking to one's
self." They all laughed at that. "So when did you two
meet?", Harm asked, "Christmas Day". Now it was Al's
turn to get smacked by Mac. "You've  known her since
Christmas, and you didn't tell us. "Well I wanted to
be sure the relationship was going somewhere before I
said something".  " Well is it". Mac said, directing
the question to Catherine. "Oh  yes I got my claws in
him I'm never going to let go. They don't call me Cat
for nothing". "good for you girl, Mac said. Harm just
rolled his eyes. "Oh by the way congratulations on
your engagement". "Thank you", they both said in
unison.
After about an hour it was time for cake and to open
presents. The Admiral and Meridith gave them a wall
clock with both the navy and marine corps seals on it.
Bud and Harriet gave them a blender and a toaster.
Tiner gave them a microwave. Al and Catherine gave
them a 35 inch TV. After that was finished everyone
had cake and coffee. Everyone separated into groups
and were talking and telling stories.
Mac and Catherine were sitting on the couch chatting
away as if they'd known each other all their lives.
"So Cath your in the navy?' " Yes I'm a doctor at
Bethesda". "Oh really, what's your specialty" "When I
got out of med school I was a gynecologist, but after
those anthrax scares, I changed my designator to
biological and chemical research and treatment" "Oh
my" Mac said,"does that mean you could be sent to
Iraq?", Mac asked. "Possibly, we were told to move out
with in three hours of getting our orders when and if
they come", Catherine said. "Oh my God, does Al Know?"
"Yes we talked about it". "How is he taking it?", Mac
asked. "He's ok with it he supports me, it's my job
and I want to go. That's why I changed designators. I
want to be more of an asset to the war effort. Not
much of a need for a gynecologist on the front lines".
Mac chuckled at that.
Everyone but Harm and Mac, and Al and Catherine had
left. Bud was yawning and Harriet was dead on her
feet. Catherine got up and said, "Al we better get
going these good people need their sleep, besides I
got to go in for awhile and make sure all my equipment
is in order". Al looked her up and down, "seems to be
in order to me. "Oh Al", Mac said. "Your
terrible."Well Mac it's been so good to have finally
met you. Al talks about you all the time. He's very
proud of his baby sister" "Cath you were a surprise to
us, but I'm glad we met. I think we're going to become
good friends". "I'd like that Mac I like you, your
very nice. "Thank you Cath, I like you too. Maybe we
can go to lunch soon, if you don't have to go over
there". With that they all said goodnight
