"I know where we are going," Navy Commander Harmon "Harm" Rabb Jr. replied driving down the snow covered road with the snow still falling from the sky. "Then why haven't we seen a hit of civilization in the past 43 minutes 43 seconds," Mac fumed. "We are lost, Harm, face it." Harm and Mac were heading up the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia to locate a Navy Captain Mitchell Graham who went AWOL two weeks ago. After several attempts of locating Captain Graham, Mac had finally found a cabin in the Potomac Highlands that his family had owned. Minutes after Mac had found a map of the area Harm and her were out the door in his SUV heading towards the winter storm of the year. For four straight hours the flakes had continued to fall and the temperature had drastically dropped by more than twenty degrees. "We are not lost," Harm told her turning to look at her. "HARM, WATCH OUT," she shouted as an elk stood there in the middle of the road. Harm instantly slapped on the breaks as the car skidded on the ice. Mac held on as tight as she could to the door as the car circled into a one hundred and eighty-degree turn then crashed into an oak tree. Minutes passed before either of them moved yet it seemed like hours. Harm pulled himself off the steering wheel in which he was thrown towards and looked over to a very still Marine. "Mac," Harm mumbled trying to reach her. "Talk to me, Mac." "I knew we should not have left," Mac whispered opening her eyes and sitting up. "Harm, you're hurt." Mac put her hand up to his forehead where the blood was dripping from the laceration. "I'm okay," he told her taking her hand in his kissing the inside of her palm. "We need to get out of here." Mac began to move around looking for her purse remembering she had her cell phone. Once she dug her cell phone out of her purse she threw both of them down. "What is the problem," Harm asked noticing her frustration. "Out of area," Mac rebuffed. "Maybe we can flag someone down," Harm said getting out of the car. "Who? Who would be on these roads in this condition other than us. Who are we supposed to flag down, Harm," Mac yelled. "You are the one that was so bent on locating Graham," Harm replied helping her out of the car. "I was not the one that deciding to come out here in this weather, that was all you, Commander," Mac shouted pulling herself away from Harm and slipping falling on her ass in the snow. She sat there with a look for fury across her face as the frosty wet snow soaked through her winter green uniform. Harm stood in front of her holding out his hand trying to hide the fly-boy grin of his. He could not help but laugh at the antics of his partner and best friend. "You say anything I will kick your six all the way back to Falls Church," Mac ordered taking his hand as he lifted her up. "We better find some kind of shelter and get you out of those wet clothes," Harm said putting a comforting arm around her. A half an hour later they were still guiding their way through the piles of snow down the road when they came upon a tiny cabin. "It looks deserted," Harm told Mac looking into one of the windows. "We can't just break in, Harm," Mac chattered her arms wrapped around her as she shook from freezing temperatures and the fact that she had fallen not once but three times in the hike to the cabin while Harm had fallen only once. "Watch us." Harm kneeled down with a paper clip he found, he unlocked the door letting Mac inside first. #147;Harm I don#146;t think we can stay here tonight,#148; Mac stated looking around inside of the cabin. She found a light and turning it on she was disgusted at the sight in front of her. Harm walked through and knew that this was the only place they would find shelter for the night. #147;See if you can find some more blankets for us while I see if I can start a fire,#148; Harm told Mac. He headed over the fireplace stepping over the piles of wood and junk that filled the small cabin. #147;EEWWW,#148; Mac screamed startling Harm. #147;What is it,#148; Harm asked rushing to her side. #147;There was a rat the size of a Doberman,#148; Mac admitted. #147;I think you are overreacting a bit, Marine,#148; Harm comforted her. #147;How about you strip down and climb into that bed while I get the fire started.#148; He didn#146;t want to admit it but thinking of his partner naked got him hot without a fire. In the small cabin the only piece of the rotted building was a full size bed and a kitchen table with two chairs along with tons of garbage throughout the floor. There were just a couple blankets for them to wrap up into. Harm got the fire going and headed towards the bed. He caught the look in Mac#146;s eyes. #147;Why haven#146;t you stripped down, Marine,#148; he asked. #147;You can#146;t be serious,#148; she chatter shivering beside the bed. #147;Mac, both of us are soaking wet. If we stay in these cloths we could catch pneumonia. Trust me. I promise I won#146;t look. I will even let you wear my shirt,#148; Harm explained as he began unbuttoning his uniform. Mac just stood there watching the man she loved began to undress. The Navy winder shirt was completely unbuttoned. The shirt was drenched from the snow and the sweat of hiking miles. Once the shirt fell to the ground, Harm en tucked the white T-shirt he wore underneath from his Navy slacks. Mac couldn#146;t take her eyes off of him. The T-shirt was lifted over his head revealing his chiseled chest. Mac imagined running her hands all over his body, but that chest was practically screaming her name. Breaking her concentration was Harm#146;s T-shirt smacking her in the head. #147;Marine, get your head out of the clouds,#148; Harm laughed. #147;Sorry.. what,#148; Mac wondered taking the T-shirt putting it on the bed. #147;Where were you?#148; #147;No where. Why?#148; #147;You were somewhere else for a few minutes, Sarah. Tell me,#148; Harm stated unzipping his slacks. #147;What do you think you are doing,#148; Mac screamed noticing Harm#146;s movements. #147;There is no way I am sleeping on this floor. So if you would kindly turn around while I take these off I can slip under the covers,#148; Harm explained. She did as he requested, she could hear the crackling of the fire and Harm moving around on the bed. #147;Mac, you can turn around now,#148; he stated. She turned to him noticing the blankets only covering half of his chest. He smiled at her with the fly-boy grin of his. #147;Your turn,#148; he muttered noticing the shaking of her hands holding his T-shirt now tightly in her hands. #147;Turn around,#148; she mumbled somehow. #147;As the Colonel requested Harm laid on his side facing away from her. First she unbuttoned her Marine uniform shirt. Then she unsnapped her bra and quickly covered herself with Harm#146;s T-shirt. She could smell his fragrance on the shirt. The smell sent shivers down her spine. After taking off her Marine slacks she gathered her clothes and went over on the other side of the bed to gather Harm#146;s. #147;What are you doing,#148; Harm asked. He looked over into her eyes as she bent down to pick up his clothes. She couldn#146;t help but smile at him and his eyes went up and down her body realizing the only thing she was wearing was his T-shirt. #147;We need to dry these, so I am going to hang them somehow over by the fireplace,#148; she answered. Minutes later she crawled into bed next to him while their clothes hung over an iron rod she had found. Mac could not get comfortable in the bed laying beside Harm. It was agony knowing the man she loved was next to her in only a pair of boxers and she could not act on her feelings. Harm took notice of Mac#146;s movement finally having enough he turned around pulling her into his arms. #147;Now will you stop moving so I can get some sleep,#148; Harm ordered as Mac#146;s head laid on his chest. #147;How are we going to get out of here,#148; she asked making circles on his chest. #147;The way you are making me feel right now, I hope we never get out of here,#148; he stated. #147;Harm, I#146;m sorry about yelling at you earlier.#148; #147;It#146;s okay, Mac. I forgive you,#148; he told her tightening his hold on her. #147;How is Sturgis doing,#148; Mac asked still doing circles around his chest. #147;Mac, the last thing I want to do is talk about Sturgis,#148; he said kissing the top of her head. #147;Harm has Sturgis gave up on trying to find out what is going on between us,#148; she asked looking up at his handsome face. #147;What is going on between us, Sarah?#148; #147;I wish I knew. Sometimes I think I do, but then other times I just don#146;t know.#148; #147;The other times is me making a failing attempt at telling you exactly how I feel about you.#148; #147;Harm, I don#146;t think this is the best place to have this discussion,#148; Mac stated leaving his arms and turning away from him. #147;Don#146;t push me away, please,#148; Harm replied leaning over to her putting his arms around her. #147;We need to stop dancing. There is nothing stopping us from being together now.#148; #147;How about regulations? We can#146;t just throw the past seven years out the window and have a fling together, Harm. I would not be able to handle that once you left,#148; she explained not being able to look at him with tears beginning to fall. #147;Sarah, listen to me, I would never treat like that. You mean more to me than anything or anybody ever could. I would give me life for you, Sarah. I would give up everything for you,#148; he whispered in her ear. #147;Does that include flying?#148; #147;I said anything which means flying F14#146;s. Sarah, I love you,#148; he confessed realizing seconds later what had come out of his mouth. Mac quickly turned around and she recognized the look of desire and love in his eyes. She had finally caught sight of what Mic had told her so many times before. Harm truly did love her. #147;Marine, your speechless,#148; Harm stated breaking her trance. #147;Harm, I don#146;t know what to say,#148; she stumbled over. #147;It#146;s okay. I don#146;t want to make you uncomfortable,#148; he admitted turning away from her. He wasn#146;t sure if spilling his feelings for his Marine was the right thing to do. She didn#146;t feel the same way and he was willing to take it. As he turned away from her, she knew what he was thinking. He had made several attempts to break the chain that they continued for the past couple of years. He had stopped the dance and she couldn#146;t bring herself to make the next move. #147;Wait. Harmon Rabb Jr, do you realize how you make me feel when you do these things. Do you realize that every time you make an attempt at making the first move, it makes me love you even more? So many times before you seemed to be the one to walk away. So many times you were the one that could not express your feelings. Now here you are again making the first move and I fold. I can#146;t keep doing it. No matter what, tonight it is going to stop,#148; she explained as she took his face in her hands and kissed him with such passion. First he was shocked at what she had done, but as the kiss progressed he let himself fall deeper into her trance. His arms wrapped around her waist bringing her closer to him. She gained entrance to his mouth and now that the dance was finished with their emotions another dance began. This dance made them both feel something neither had felt before. Sure, both of them had lovers before, but nothing felt like this. They were in heaven as their hands began to roam all over the other#146;s body. They rolled over and with him on top of her he began the trail of kisses down her luscious body. She knew where he was heading towards as he kissed her naval and pulled her legs apart trying to gain access to her core. #147;Harm, I want you inside of me,#148; she begged as his fingers brushed up against her curls. #147;Patience, my dear,#148; he stated. She had to make him stop, so she took his face into the palms of her hands and shook her head no. #147;You don#146;t understand, Harm. I want to feel you inside of me. I want you to make love to me,#148; she begged as he finally understood that her first time she fell over the edge she wanted him to be there falling with her. He then to kiss his way back up her body finally reaching his destination. Their lips crashed onto one another and seconds he was inside of her. First it was slow as their eyes met they knew this was finally what they had wanted since they first met years ago in the Rose Garden. Harm had begun to pick up the speed thrusting deeper and deeper inside of her. As she began to moan his name he knew they would soon fall together. Minutes later as he screamed her name as they climaxed the tear fell down his face. They had finally reached the peak of no returns as his head fell between her breasts. #147;Was that a tear I noticed,#148; she asked her hands traveling over his backside. #147;In my wildest dreams I never thought this would feel so perfect as it does,#148; he confessed. #147;We are in a run down cabin with the worst winter storm in ten years going on outside and you think it is perfect. Well, Navy, I believe you are right,#148; she stated kissing the top of his head. Minutes later both of them were asleep after the exertion of the day, the confession of feelings, and the lovemaking. Waking up a couple hours later they made love again and every other hour they would wake up and enjoy their time in each other#146;s arms. Soon morning came letting the sun shine into the window of the cabin, Harm woke up with Mac laying in his arms. He carefully got out of bed without waking up the Marine and put on his clothes that had finally dried from the previous activity the day before. He opened the door to the cabin looking out upon the beautiful scene of a winter wonderland. The trees were covered with flakes and the sun beat down from the sky above. To Harm, it felt so much like he was in heaven knowing that the woman he loved was inside and outside was a sight of nature that brought them together. #147;It#146;s breathtaking,#148; Mac said from behind him wrapping her arms around his waist. #147;Like last night,#148; he replied glancing back at her. #147;Or like you.#148; #147;I thought it was another dream when I woke up and you were gone.#148; #147;I#146;m sorry it will never happen again,#148; he said as he turned around kissing her good morning. #147;Is that a promise, Fly Boy,#148; she wondered responding to the kiss. Suddenly breaking the kiss was the sound of branches breaking in front of the cabin some feet away. #147;Whose out there,#148; Harm shouted pushing Mac behind him. #147;Don#146;t shoot,#148; a man yelled coming into sight. #147;You must be the one that the SUV belongs too.#148; #147;Yea, and who are you,#148; Harm asked looking over the older gray haired gentleman with a mustache and goatee covering his face. #147;Harm, it#146;s Captain Graham,#148; Mac stated. #147;The Marine is correct,#148; the older man responded. #147;It looks like you found my cabin.#148; #147;This is your cabin. We were told you were probably up here,#148; Harm said stepping down off the porch of the cabin. #147;Captain Graham, I am Lieutenant Colonel Sarah Mackenzie and this is Commander Harmon Rabb, we are here to bring you back to your station,#148; Mac introduced herself. #147;I only wanted to come up here to say goodbye. See, my dear, Annabelle died here two weeks ago. Our families were so close when we were growing up. My first love died two weeks ago, but I never had the chance to tell her how much she meant to me. I came up here to tell her,#148; Captain Graham explained. #147;Why didn#146;t you ask for leave,#148; Harm questioned. #147;I did, but I was denied. I couldn#146;t go any longer with her in my heart with her not knowing. When I was denied leave, I had to go AWOL, it was the only way. You must understand that I planned on coming back,#148; Captain Graham confessed. #147;Haven#146;t you ever been in love with someone so much that you were afraid if they didn#146;t know it would kill you, Commander?#148; #147;Yes, I have and I understand completely, but I am not sure if a court will,#148; Harm replied. #147;Let#146;s get you back to Washington,#148; Mac told the Captain looking quickly over at Harm seeing the love in his eyes once again. Their crazy trip to the Potomac Highlands may have been a dangerous one during the frozen temperatures, the high winds, and the falling snow, but it was worth while at the end. The End.
