Summary: Sequel to ‘Darling, If You Love Me’ Mac and Harm have their talk. JAG HQ 0900 hours “She about expended 90% of the moisture of her body in drool!” Mac exclaimed with a smirk. Harriet shrugged. “I probably would have, too. The Admiral is a very sexy man.” Carolyn and Mac’s mouths fell open. “HARRIET!!!!” they both exclaimed. “What?” “Harriet, you’re married!” “What would Bud say?” “Mac, I’m married, not dead! Besides, Bud has his own fixations.” Mac and Carolyn exchanged a look and leaned forward. “Really?” Mac asked. “Who?” Carolyn demanded. Harriet grinned. “Oh, I couldn’t possibly say.” “I could make that an order, Lieutenant.” Mac stressed the junior officer’s rank. “You could.” Harriet agreed. Mac sighed in frustration and headed to her office. 1534 hours “Hey, Mac?” “Mmmm?” Mac replied, not looking up from her notes. Harm entered the office completely and shut the door behind him. “When are we gonna have that talk?” Mac’s head shot up at that. “Harm. . . I don’t think. . .” “Then don’t. Don’t think, don’t talk. Let me. Just please, give me a chance to explain why I said that.” “What if I don’t want you to explain?” Mac asked in a whisper. “What if I’m scared of what the explanation will be?” “And if I’m scared of what your reaction will be? Mac, I’ve wasted too much time already just because I’m scared. I’m not going to let it get in the way of this. Came to my place for dinner?” “Okay.” Mac said softly. “1700?” “Yeah.” “See you then.” “See you then.” Mac echoed. Harm’s apartment 1659 hours ‘Okay.’ Harm said to himself. ‘Get a hold of yourself, Rabb. She’ll be here any second and you’re acting like a 15-year-old about to get his first blow-job. Shit! Bad example.’ Harm jumped when he heard Mac knock on the door. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly, his hand on the door handle. The door swung open and Harm was struck speechless. It wasn’t the first time he had seen Mac in civvies and it certainly wouldn’t be the last, but it seemed that every time he saw her out of uniform, she looked better and better. Mac shifted uncomfortably under Harm’s stare. There was nothing overly interesting about the clothing she had chosen. A simple flowered skirt that fell to mid thigh, and a white blouse. “Um. . . Harm?” Harm jumped. “Sorry.” He muttered sheepishly as he stepped aside to let Mac in. “You look gorgeous, Sarah.” Mac smiled and blushed at the compliment and the use of her first name. “Thank you.” Harm didn’t look too bad himself. Simple black jeans that hugged his ass and a black button up shirt that clung to his gorgeous chest. Harm led Mac to the couch. “Dinner was wonderful, Harm.” Mac commented, smiling. Harm grinned back. “Thank you.” His face sobered. “Sarah. . . about what I said at the party. . .” Mac looked on expectantly, almost afraid of what he was going to say. “I don’t know of any easy way to say this. . . so I’ll just get it out and hope for the best. Sarah, ever since I saw you in the rose garden, I’ve been attracted to you. I think you know that, but just chalked it up to you looking like Diane. That wasn’t it. You are a very beautiful woman, and the attraction I have for you isn’t just for your body. There was something there, even from the very beginning. Something. . . I don’t know. . . something magical is the only way I can think of to describe it. When we shook hands, it was like nothing I have ever known. And that was just contact through our hands! When you told me that you’re an alcoholic, I didn’t know what to do. We had just met that day, and already you were confiding in me. But I think that I knew when you pulled me into that helo and said ‘Permission granted’ and smiled at me for the first time. I knew that I love you. That I had loved you since my heart was formed, but I just hadn’t met you yet. And so, after taking a while to get to my point, I want to say this: Sarah Catherine MacKenzie, I love you.” “Harm.” Mac whispered, tears in her eyes. “God, I’ve waited so long for you to say that. Ever since I told you that your smile wouldn’t work on me, when we were driving through the desert. I thought I was going to go crazy in that truck, you were so close, wearing only that bare minimum. You looked so damn sexy that I had to keep telling you off just to keep myself under control.” Harm grinned. “You don’t have to control yourself any more, Sarah.” Mac smiled back. “Good.” She whispered before leaning into Harm’s welcoming embrace. Their lips met and clung together for a short eternity. They leaned back and looked into each other’s eyes. “I love you so much.” Mac whispered. Harm answered by leaning close again, the next kiss nowhere near as soft as their mouths fused together, bodies straining for a higher level of contact. “Sarah,” Harm muttered against Mac’s lips as she licked at his lightly. “I need you.” “You have me.” “Make love with me.” “Yes.” Harm gently picked Mac up and carried her to his bedroom. The next morning JAG HQ 0830 hours “They’re late.” “So, he’s always late.” “No, not ‘he’s’ late, ‘*they’re*’ late.” “Harriet, you’re reading too much into this.” The two women turned as Harm and Mac strode into the bullpen and into their respective offices. “Am I?” The End.
