Mac sat down gratefully at the table and Harm wandered away for a moment to get some punch. She watched him as he walked, admiring the quiet grace and strength he possessed. She smiled as he came back, bearing two cups of punch. Harm sat and handed Mac one of the cups. Their eyes met as she accepted the cup and took a sip. “You like?” Harm asked, his voice low, betraying the double meaning. Mac nodded slightly. “I like,” she affirmed, her voice also low, also answering to the double meaning. She looked up as Harriet approached the table and the two started chatting. Harm was about to get up and wander off when he felt Mac’s bare foot on his calf. His attention jerked back to Mac, happily talking with Harriet. Harm smiled slightly, and let his hand drop off the table, tracing Mac’s thigh lightly with a finger. If Harriet noticed Mac’s eyes suddenly cloud with passion, she showed no sign of it. Mac also let her hand drop out of sight and placed it on Harm’s thigh, just above the knee. Ever so slowly, her hand wandered up the inside of his leg. Harm’s vision went black for an instant as his eyes burned with desire. Just as he thought he would go crazy, Mac pulled her hand away and stood, making an excuse to Harriet about being tired. She then turned to Harm. “Since my date has left, could you drive me home, Flyboy?” Harm nodded and stood, leading Mac out to his car.
