Title: Continue to Dance Author: Nicole Category: V, R [Harm/Mac] Rating: G Spoilers: none, I think. Just the last story. Disclaimer: not mine, alas Summary: sequel to ‘Only Just Begun’ Feedback: desired Author’s Notes: if you don’t understand the end, email me and I’ll try to explain, though I can’t guarantee I’ll do a good job, as I don’t fully understand it. Author’s Thanks: Ashlee, for telling me that the story was good and she’d like a sequel, but if I didn’t write one, that’d be fine, too. Harm felt a smile spread across his face, even as Mac went to dance with Mic. Harm knew that Mac’s last dance would be with him, so he didn’t worry about the other man. “Sarah, what was that? With Rabb?” Mic asked as they started dancing. Mac sighed and laid her head against Mic’s shoulder. “I’m sorry, Mic,” she said simply. “Sorry for what?” Mac lifted her head again and looked Mic straight in the eyes. “I can’t marry you. I’m sorry. I love Harm.” Mic immediately stopped and took a step away from Mac. Hurt filled his eyes, “Why?” he asked softly. “Why do I love him?” At Mic’s nod, Mac continued. “I don’t know. He hurt me so much I should hate him. But I don’t. I love him because… because he never asked me to. Because he completes me.” Mic nodded. “Be happy, Sarah.” Sarah smiled and slid the ring off her finger, handing it to Mic. Mic shook his head. “No. I want you to keep it. And always know that I love you.” Mic softly wiped a tear from Mac’s cheek and kissed her lightly. One last smile and he turned to leave. Mac stood in the middle of the dance floor, staring after him, holding his ring. Harm watched Mac, and when her song with Mic was over, even though Mic hadn’t stayed to hear the end, Harm approached. “Dance with me,” he said softly. Mac immediately went into his arms. “Why didn’t you come earlier?” she asked quietly. Harm smiled as he held Mac close. “Your song with Mic had to end before I could dance with you.” Mac smiled at the significance of Harm’s actions and words. “Thank you,” she whispered.
