Mac's Appartment

3:31 pm 

Sunday

Lt Col Sarah MacKenzie had just finished typing a very
long letter to Chloe when she looked out the
window...that is when it struck her. Her car was
hideous! You couldn't even see the paint job it was so
dirty!! She decided her time would be less wasted it
she could have someone to help her wash
it.......preferably someone she could trust. Harm!!
She picked up the phone to call him. 

Mac was beginning to think he wasn't home but after
the 3rd ring he picked up. The voice on the other end
sent shivers down her spine.

"Rabb"

"Hey flyboy!! What's up?"

"Nothing actually, just thinking about going for a
drive."

"Well you can drive over here if you want to....my car
needs to be washed really bad...we could wash yours
too...."

Harm laughed a little and God knows she loved that
sound...

"Sure Mac, I will help you wash your car but mine
doesn't need to be washed...I did it yesterday!"

"Sounds like a plan!"

"I will be over in about an hour"

An hour and 13 minutes passed when she heard a knock
on her door. When she opened it, she had to keep her
jaw from dropping. Even in his battered blue jeans and
blue t-shirt, he looked gorgeous. And the backwards
red hat made him look so cute!! His flyboy grin made
her come back to her senses. He was carrying a two
sponges, two rags, wax, and a bucket.....oh and soap.

"You gonna make me stand out in the hall all day or
are we gonna wash your car?" He said smiling.

"Oh sorry" She said laughing. "Let me grab the
radio....we should take the car down to my friend
Tia's house...she won't care and it will give us more
room."

He simply nodded and after shutting the door, they
walked out together. Getting into the car, Mac stared
at Harm for a second....Making him feel awkward.

".....What?"

"Seatbelt?....."

"Oh...right"

"You know better Harm!!"

They drove in comfortable silence for about 15 minutes
before parking at their destination. Tia had a nice
house, but her driveway was huge with two seperate
hoses.

15 minutes later after setting up

Tia's driveway

Harm turned on both of the hoses and Mac put the top
up on her car. (It has a top doesn't it?) He handed
Mac her hose which was kinked to keep it from spraying
everywhere, as was his, and they aimed for the car
each on one side.

"Harm......you better not spray me with that."

"I won't........as long as you don't spray me!!!!"

Just them Mac let the kink go and got him in the
stomache with part of the stream of water. 

"OOPS!" She said sarcastically trying to find cover.
She found none so she covered her face with her hands
and pled for mercy.

By this time Harm was laughing and ran over to her
spraying her all over, making sure he soaked her hair.
He loved the wet look. LOL. 

"Harm! Stop! I only got..........I only got your
stoma.....STOP!!!!!!" She said laughing and trying to
get away from him.

"You asked for it Marine!!"

"Ok ok, I plead guilty!! Lemme go!!" She was totally
soaked from head to toe accept for one little spot on
her leg, which he quickly took care of when he noticed
it.

He walked away like the king of the universe,
strutting. This made Mac crack up and because she was
already totally soaked, she had nothing to lose. She
sprayed him in the butt, full blast.

"HEY NOW!!!!!" He yelled as he turned around. "What
was that for?!"

"For you strutting like you own the world, and for
soaking me completely! I didn't even bring dry
clothes!!"

He laughed as he looked her over. She truly was
soaked. "Well I guess you will just have to lay in the
sun when we are done."

"Don't act like a poet Harmon!" But she could not keep
the smile away. "Come on lets just wash the car, not
each other."

Harm looked at her, that comment made him think some
weird thoughts. He pushed them aside and soaked the
car again. When he was done, Mac took the soapy water
and started scrubbing, as he did after he soaked his
sponge. He splatted the sponge onto the car making a
little foam ball fly into the air, landing on Mac's
nose. Which, she did not notice. He started cracking
up but didn't give it away. At least he didn't tell
her....but he did remove it with his finger.
Gently....

"Harm what are you doing? I am capable of picking my
own nose thank you very much!!" She said sarcastically
and laughing.

"I was not picking your nose Sarah MacKenzie, I was
wiping soap off of it!!"

She laughed from embarrassment and gave him a very
seductive look. She moved closer to him,
closer....closer....until she was about 3 inches from
his face. Then she let the hose unkink shooting down
his pants. He jumped back about 3 feet, and fell onto
his six.

"MAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He yelled and got up to chase
her.

"What exactly do I have to lose, Harm, Im already
soaked!!" She said while running laps around the car
with him tailing behind. She didn't realize he had
started in the other direction to meet up with her and
she ran full force into his arms. But surprisingly,
they didn't fall, she didn't move away from him
either. He just held her there, close to his heart.
She relaxed in his arms...knowing he had dropped the
hose a long time ago. Or so she thought....he had
picked it back up when he circled around for the last
time. She felt his hand venture down her back, down
her waste, and she felt his thumb go an inch or so
into the back of her jeans pocket.. But it wasn't his
thumb............No.........His thumb doesn't shoot
water as it now was doing!!!

But she didn't move. She just let it sit there, then
she pulled it out of her pocket, and up his shirt.
Then....unkinked it.....taking off. NOW, he was
totally soaked. On top of that, he could not believe
he let her do that to him!

"Mac, what do you say be make a truse? You don't shoot
me, and I don't shoot you..."

Mac thought about this for a minute, and then replied
"Ok....deal!" But little did Harm know, she had her
fingers crossed. With her other hand, her right hand,
she shook his. 

"Harm, Im going to plug in the radio, ok? I brought
some CD's, but maybe a plain old country station would
do for now...I don't feel like switching CD's."

"Sounds great....where's the outlet?"

Mac looked around for a minute, but could see nothing.
She decided it would be best to look in the garage. In
there she found an extension cord, and she unrolled it
to the outside close enough to their workspace.
Plugging the radio in, she turned it up. The sounds
and voice of Caroline Dawn Johnson filled the air.

" I'm so scared that the way that I feel, is written
all over my face.

When you walk into the room, I want to find a hiding
place.

We used to laugh, we used to hug, the way that all
friends do...

But now a smile and a touch of your hand, just makes
me come unglued."

 

Mac and Harm were both singing the words to the song,
and they harmonized quite well. Harm held out his hand
to his soaked partner offering a dance, which she
accepted. The moved together in a flowing rythem to
the beat of the music. 

"Such a controdiction, do I lie or tell the truth?

Is it fact of fiction? 

Oh the way I feel for you!!!!

It's so complicated, Im so frustrated!

I wanna hold you close,

I wanna push you away,

I wanna make you go,

I wanna make you stay.

Should I say it? Should I tell you how I feel?

Oh I want you to know, but then again I don't.

It's so complicated!"

Harm and Mac got lost in each others gaze. It was a
like a magnet was pulling their hearts close together
till they were touching. They closed the distance and
let themselves go into a deep loving kiss. Suddenly
Mac pulled away from him, startling him. 

"Im sorry........" Is what he muttered while looking
at her startled face. 

She laughed and said "No it wasn't you, well.....it
kind of was......see.....you have a bee on your
arm....."

"What?!" He looked and found what had startled Mac,
shooing it away. "Did you get stung?"

"No, I just felt it when I touched your arm....."

"Good...." He was nervous. "Should we rinse the car?"

"Yeah.."

They went back to what had brought them to Tia's house
in the first place, washing Mac's car. She kept an eye
on him when he wasn't looking, plotting her next
attack. Now, now was the time.

Shooting full blast at harm with her hose, she got him
from head to toe before he could even turn around. 

"Mac?!!!! I thought we had a deal!!!"

"YOU had a deal harm! And besides, you had another bee
on you..."

"Which would explain why you had to spray my WHOLE
BODY!!"

"Well ya never know how many more are hiding away!"

By this time she was doubled over laughing, and soon
he joined in. He couldn't stay mad at this Marine, not
with a smile like hers. She was partially dry by now,
with only a slight dampness in her jeans. He found a
quick solution to this. Picking her up into his arms,
one supporting her back and one supporting her legs,
he carried her. She did not know what was going on but
went with it, because it felt good for the time
being!! She wrapped her arms around his neck and layed
her head on his shoulder. It wasn't until she saw the
pool he was planning to throw into that she started to
freak out. 

"Harm!!!!! NO!!! Do not throw me in that! You will
regret this!!!!"

He laughed as he made a toss, attempting to throw her.
But instead, she dragged him with her into the pool.
His plan was successful......in a way.......

"I told you you would regret it!!!!"

He was struggling to stay above the water because his
laughing made him weaker. He made his way over to the
shallow end and relaxed, still laughing. Mac remained
in the deep end, quite enjoying her swim. After a
while, he joined her back in the deep end.

She dunked him and when he came back up he wrapped his
arms around her. Lost in each others gaze once again,
she expected him to dunk her. But instead he said the
most powerful words she had always longed to hear, but
dared to hope.

"I love you."

She was shocked, dumbstruck. Her reply was quiet, but
clear.

"I love you too, Harm."
