AWKWARD MOMENTS

Mac’s Apartment

“Merry Christmas,” Harm said as he stood in the doorway and offered a 
gift.

“Thank you,” was her reply with a smile.

“This is Petty Officer Coates,” he said, indicating his client.

“The two of you are so perfect,” the petty officer observed.

Mac and Harm had to be standing under the perfect spot at that moment. 
Or the not-so-perfect spot, depending on one’s perspective. The 
mistletoe hung innocently above them.

“Awkward moment number 310,” Mac said just before Harm’s lips captured 
hers in a kiss.

‘Leave it to you to remember the exact number of awkward moments with 
Harm,’ she thought to herself with a small smile.

Harm was doing some thinking of his own, and it had nothing to do with 
the number of awkward moments between himself and Mac. ‘I wonder what 
would happen if I kept this kiss up just a bit longer,’ he thought. At 
that moment, Mac pulled away.

“Wow!” Chloe said under her breath.

“ I thought maybe the petty officer and I could stay here, at least for 
the night? All the brigs are closed, and I figured my partner wouldn’t 
mind if I stopped by,” Harm stated as he tried to clear his thoughts of 
the kiss. 

“Sure, you’re both welcome to stay.”

“Thanks, Mac. You’re a good friend,” he replied with a flyboy grin.

“You’re welcome, Harm. You’re not so bad yourself.”
